Onstage Presentation – Part 1

I was really honoured to be asked to do a presentation for Stampin’ Up! during the recent Onstage Local event in Melbourne.

I was showcasing the Tutti Frutti bundle from the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalogue.  It will be available to customers on 3 January 2018, and demonstrators can pre-order it from 1 December, unless you attended an Onstage event, in which case hopefully you have already done your Product Purchase Premier order!

This bundle consists of the Fruit Basket stamp set and co-ordinating Itty Bitty Fruit Punch pack, a tutti frutti cardstock pack (Real Red, Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight), Tutti frutti classic stampin’ spots in a four pack (Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Suede), Tutti frutti 6″ x 6″ designer series paper, Tutti frutti adhesive backed sequins, Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ mini striped ribbon, Tutti frutti washi tape and then the Tutti Frutti cards and envelopes that you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration.

So firstly, here I am up on stage for my presentation.  I got a bit nervous when I saw everyone coming into the room but I was ok once I was on stage.

Here I am with my display of cards.

I was asked to create a number of samples and to share how I would use this bundle in my business.  I plan on running a class using the wood crate framelits and the envelope punch board.  Here are the samples I created.

I also give my hostess’s a gift for having me do a presentation in their home.  I usually give them the card I demonstrate but for this set, I created a tag and added it to a package of pineapple lollies.

I also created a number of cards using this bundle.  I really love the DSP so these cards focus on that.

Of course a stamp set called Fruit Basket wouldn’t be complete with a couple of fruit baskets! I also found the notecards and envelopes to be a good size for this set. (It’s also a bit challenging to photograph a white card with a white background!)

The next set of cards are using the Tutti frutti cards and envelopes that you can earn for free with a $90 purchase during Sale-a-bration (which starts on 3 January).  Oh and look, I even stamped on the envelopes!

For my last set of cards, I used the outline stamps to create the background.

For the second part of the samples I made, check out part 2 here.

If you can’t wait to see the 2018 Occasions catalogue, you can become a demonstrator and check it out on the demonstrator website! Here is my link here.

CTC62 – My Favourite Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

Welcome to another week of Case-ing the Catty!!! Gee, the year is flying past already!! This week, we are showcasing our favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. There are so many gorgeous freebies in this catalogue that it makes it hard to choose just one.

I decided to case the card on page 10 which features a Project Life card and the Perfect Pairings stamp set.

I don’t have the SAB Project Life cards yet (yes, you can get a Project Life kit for free!!), so I decided to make my own. I used the It’s My Party DSP stack and based my colours on the co-ordinating colours of the DSP. So I have a Sahara Sand base, then a Crushed Curry layer and then I created the window using Melon Mambo. I also used the SAB Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack on the window.

I created the square window using two of the square framelits and ran them through the big shot at the same time. Fortunately, I had them lined up straight!!

I then stamped the sentiment from the Perfect Pairings set using my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig using the Archival Basic Black ink. As it was a bit wet, I used my heat gun to dry it off quicker so I could stamp the smaller stamp as well. It’s a bit hard to see in the photo but I drew a square around window in Crushed Curry like the original.

I then assembled the window and made some confetti using my confetti star punch. I put lots of dimensionals around the edge of the back of the square and added the banners at the bottom. (Note to self: make sure you put tape on the back of the banner, otherwise confetti falls out the gap. Ask me how I know!!)

A final bow in the new Melon Mambo baker’s twine and voila, all done!!

CTC60 – Caseing a Design Team Member

CTC Holiday header-001

It’s our last project for 2015!! Can you believe that we are nearly ready to start a new year? I can’t!!

Our task this week is to Case another CTC Design Team Member. I was lucky to get my amazing friend, Emma at Vintage Graffiti. She is so talented and does the most beautiful work!!

It was hard to decide which project to CASE!! I ended up going with her Project Life case, which you can read about here.

Isn’t that a cute card? I didn’t want to use a Project Life card (as I might NEEED it for scrapping!) so I had a look at my stamp sets for a large quote. I found the Friendly Wishes stamp set had just the sentiment I needed to share my sentiments about my lovely friend!

Now unlike Emma, my sewing machine isn’t sitting on my desk but is miles away at the bottom of my craft cupboard (Well, not miles but maybe 1 metre away) but I can’t be bothered to get it out to sew on a card. That is pushing the limits of friendship way too much. So I decided to create a shaker card instead.

I stayed with a similar colour theme, although I used Bermuda Bay as my base, and the black polka dots is from the Neutrals DSP stack.

I stamped the sentiment with White Staz on and cut out the squares using my square framelits. I cut out the inside of the Bermuda Bay Square and added a window sheet behind it. I then used the edges of a pack of dimensionals around the edge of the square on the back to create the space to add the sequins in. I added a few pinches of sequins and then a few more to make sure I had enough.

At the recent Onstage Local Stampin’ Up! event held in Melbourne, I was lucky enough to be able to have a girls’ weekend with my stamping besties, Emma and Jess. We had such a fun time catching up and also finding out about the new Occasions catalogue! Love you girls!!

So onto my projects!! I have to admit I was a little stumped on what to make as there are so many lovely products in this catalogue. I simply couldn’t decide which stamp set to use. I decided to try a sketch challenge and found one at Sweet Sunday Sketch that I liked.

SSSC285

You know how sometimes it’s really hard to cut up Designer Series Paper? Well, I’ve been having a bit of trouble cutting into the Home for Christmas DSP! So I’ve bitten the bullet and done it! Using the colour’s of the DSP, I layered up my card in Real Red, Pool Party and Delightful Dijon.

I used the Cozy Christmas stamp set and inked up the stamp using markers. Doesn’t it look fab!!

esad hop 2

I also had to create a matching envelope using the Real Red envelope paper. Did you know that you can get 20 sheets for only $10.50. That’s a lot of cute envelopes!!

I just love the Snowflake as well especially with an Iced Rhinestone on it!!

I also liked the slightly larger Season stamp in the set so I made the same card using a different piece of the Home for Christmas DSP. Oh, and isn’t the Stripes Satin ribbon to die for? I wasn’t a fan to start with but it is very luxurious looking. I can see I’m going to use it a lot.
