Here we are with another Sunday CASEing the Catty hop for you. I really love doing these and enjoy the challenge each week to really study the catalogue and work out what to case.
This week, we are casing the Urban Underground section, from pages 46-49 of the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.
I don’t have any of the sets in this section, although I did buy the hexagon embossing folder, which I love!! I was running a bit short of time to create a card this week (knew I should have done it last week when I had heaps of time!!), so I decided to case the superhero card on page 49.
I really love the block layout of this card. I decided to use the Balloon Adventures stamp set and the gorgeous SAB Carried Away DSP. Did you know that on the back of the DSP packet, it lists all the co-ordinating colours used? That way there is no guessing as to which colours were used. I went with a Night of Navy base and then used Smoky Slate ink for the sentiment. I was going to stamp and cut out a balloon but the DSP is just so nice, I decided to let it speak for itself. This was a really quick card to make so great for when you have to make a last minute card.
Time is running out to earn your favourite sale-a-bration products, so place your qualifying $90 order with me today. Here’s a link to my online store. Don’t forget SAB ends on 31 March!
Next up on our hop today is fellow Queenslander, Julia!
Please come and join our Facebook Challenge Group where you can join us and share your projects from the same section of the catalogue.
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Welcome back to another week at CTC!! The year is already going so quickly already!!
Our new home for our challenges is on the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Group and it’s going off!! We are getting lots of entries to our challenges, which is so exciting!! I love seeing how everyone interprets the catalogue projects!! If you would like to join us over there, click here.
This week, we are casing the Cupcakes and Carousels section, pages 8 – 13 of the Occasions Catalogue.
I decided to case the birthday candle shaker card from the Birthday Bright Project Kit on page 13. This is a lovely kit which I made up for my Pop for Christmas.
I was inspired by one of the entries in last week’s challenge by Kate Gardiner, who used the very cute SAB Carried Away DSP. (Did you know you can get this paper for free?)
I started with the Night of Navy cardstock for the base and added the scalloped dsp. I then started on the balloon shaker. I cut out 2 balloons, one Whisper White and one Watermelon Wonder. I only wanted the outline of the white one, so I’ve kept the balloon for another project. I added a piece of window sheet on the back and used the foam adhesive strips around the balloon shape. I then punched out lots of stars using my star punch and added some Dazzling diamonds to the mix. I then added another piece of window sheet over the top and then turned it over and shook it all around. I may have got a bit excited about the glitter!!
Make sure you stamp on the white piece before you make the shaker. (As me how I know!!) I stamped the clouds from the Lift Me Up stamp set and the you from Crazy about you
Then attach your layers to the base card. I also cut out the happy from the Hello You thinlits using Peekaboo Peach.
I do love a shaker card!! You might have noticed that!!
Next on the hop is the lovely Kathryn.
Don’t forget to come and join us at CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge!! We’d love you to join in!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Don’t you just love freebies! I certainly do!! Especially when it comes to stamps and paper!
We are casing the brand new Sale-a-bration catalogue this week. Don’t you just love the Inside the Lines DSP. Too die for!!
I have decided to case the layout of the square card on page ?
I kinda made it rather large, just folded a piece of a4 cardstock in half and trimmed it to make a square. But that’s ok, I wanted to show case the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP. I couldn’t decide which ice-cream to choose, so I went with them all. I added a pool party matt as I wanted to make the squares “pop”. I used the hello stamp from the Vertical Garden stamp set using Watermelon Wonder and shadowed it with Chocolate Chip to match the colours in the DSP.
I layered the banner on a strip of Watermelon Wonder and added a bow using the silver ribbon from the free SAB metallic ribbon combo. Oh, and I used the Banner Triple punch to create the banner.
I even made a matching envelope and STAMPED it!! Lol, I always forget about the envelope. And you know what, I’ve even sent it out already!!
I hope you like my card. Next on the hop is the amazing Mel Pagano.
Don’t forget that we have moved our challenges to our new Facebook Group, CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenges, so make sure you pop over and join in over there!! It’s certainly been great this week seeing everyone join in.

This week at Caseing the Catty, we are back sharing our favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
Did you know if you spend $90 on products from either the Annual catalogue or the Occasions catalogue, you can earn any of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalogue for free? Isn’t that fabulous!!
Did you know that you can get a Project Life card collection for free? It’s the Memories in the Marking Project Life Specialty card collection and it’s gorgeous! You get 30 specialty cards that supplement our other Project Life collections. There are 10 4″ x 6″ cards and 20 3″ x 4″ cards. And of these cards, there are 15 overlays and 15 emboss resist cards!!!
Whilst these cards are great for using with Project Life, they are also good for making quick and easy cards.
So for my first card, I used a 4″ x 6″ black and white overlay. Now remember it’s a bigger size than our usual card size, so keep that in mind when cutting your cardstock. Ask me how I know!! lol.
I put a piece of white underneath the overlay and then created my ice creams on a separate piece of cardstock and cut them out. Aren’t the honeycomb embellishments to die for? They are so cute! I stamped the sentiment very carefully on the overlay in Staz-on ink and put it aside to dry for a while so it didn’t get smudged.
For my next card, I used one of the smaller 3″ x 4″ overlays and I added a piece of white cardstock underneath again. I then used another SAB stamp set, What I love, for the sentiment. A little bunch of flowers in the corner and it’s all done!!
For my last card, I used one of the emboss resist 4″ x 6″ pieces. I carefully coloured each section with a sponge dauber.
I used the SAB Perfect Pairings stamp set for the sentiment and did a little paper piercing around the oval for an extra bit of detail. A silver bow and again, another quick card.
Don’t forget that you can join in with us and share your projects. Join in with the linky at the bottom of this post. You might be our winner for this month!
I hope you are inspired by my cards this week. Next stop on the hop is the lovely Jackie.

We are back with another Sunday Caseing the Catty blog hop! Sunday’s are coming around so quickly, aren’t they! Especially when you have to go to work or school the next day. But I hope we can cheer up your Sunday evening with lots of cards to inspire you!
This week, we are back to casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue. So many glorious freebies to be had!! Did you know that some of the free stamps and paper are only available until 15 February? No? Well you need to get your order in so you can get them before they are no longer available!!
I just love the Hello stamp set. It covers more than just birthdays, although that is what I have focussed on this week. I was inspired by the card on page 18 of the catalogue.
I loved the gold Hello on the original but I was too lazy to do embossing!! (It’s been pretty hot and humid this week, which doesn’t make for easy crafting!!) So I thought I would try White staz on ink on my watercoloured Bermuda Bay background. But it didn’t come out as white as I would have like, but I was committed so I continued with it. I then stamped the birthday sentiment in Rose Red and added a piece of the It’s my Party washi tape as well. (It’s one of my goals to USE washi tape this year, rather than just collect it!!). I then added a piece of the Bermuda Bay stitched ribbon (which is sooo much nicer than the picture in the catalogue!!)
I decided to try a clean and simple version of this card and I love it!! The colours look so nice and crisp!
So don’t forget that you can receive this lovely stamp set for free when you spend over $90 in my online store. Just click on the products below to go directly to my store.
And don’t forget that you can also join in with our hop by adding your link here and we will be choosing a winner next week!!
Next on the hop is the lovely Judy May
And in case you want to go back to Kathryn,
Happy stamping my lovely friends!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Welcome to another week of Case-ing the Catty!!! Gee, the year is flying past already!! This week, we are showcasing our favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. There are so many gorgeous freebies in this catalogue that it makes it hard to choose just one.
I decided to case the card on page 10 which features a Project Life card and the Perfect Pairings stamp set.
I don’t have the SAB Project Life cards yet (yes, you can get a Project Life kit for free!!), so I decided to make my own. I used the It’s My Party DSP stack and based my colours on the co-ordinating colours of the DSP. So I have a Sahara Sand base, then a Crushed Curry layer and then I created the window using Melon Mambo. I also used the SAB Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack on the window.
I created the square window using two of the square framelits and ran them through the big shot at the same time. Fortunately, I had them lined up straight!!
I then stamped the sentiment from the Perfect Pairings set using my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig using the Archival Basic Black ink. As it was a bit wet, I used my heat gun to dry it off quicker so I could stamp the smaller stamp as well. It’s a bit hard to see in the photo but I drew a square around window in Crushed Curry like the original.
I then assembled the window and made some confetti using my confetti star punch. I put lots of dimensionals around the edge of the back of the square and added the banners at the bottom. (Note to self: make sure you put tape on the back of the banner, otherwise confetti falls out the gap. Ask me how I know!!)
A final bow in the new Melon Mambo baker’s twine and voila, all done!!
Don’t forget that you can join in with our projects each week by adding yours to the link at the bottom of this post. We will have a winner at the end of the month, so please join in!!
Next up in the hop is my talented friend, Tricia at the Speckled Sparrow.
