During these crazy times of home isolation and social distancing, my gorgeous friend, Kelly Kent from My Papercraft Journey, decided to create a blog hop to keep in touch with our crafty friends.
Our theme is hello. So hi there, my friends!!
I love doing the Mojo Monday sketches, so I thought I would have look and see what they had going. They actually have three great sketches going at the moment.
I was really taken with the one in the middle, #mojosketch534. Here’s a close up.
I love the Best Dressed DSP stack. Every sheet is just so pretty!! I do like the colourful florals. So I went with the pink floral and the Old Olive sheet with white dots. I cut them out using the square die from the Stitched Shapes framelits and layered it with a piece of Old Olive cardstock.
I then had a look for a fun sentiment through my Annual Catalogue stamp sets. Do you get like me and kinda forget about those ones, in the excitement of the Mini catalogues? I decided to use the Stitched All Around stamp set, which actually is the matching set to the Stitched Shapes framelits. I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick and cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Are you getting the feeling that I like the stitched dies? You would be right!!
Did you notice the Lovely Lipstick ribbon? We don’t actually have a Lovely Lipstick ribbon but we do have Silver Metallic-edge ribbon in white and I’ve coloured it using the dark Lovely Lipstick blend. It’s a clever way to get a ribbon in the colour you need!
Next up is the lovely Siobhan. I can’t wait to see what amazing creations she has come up with.
You can also see a list of all the blogs participating in the hop at Kelly’s blog, here.
I had my stamp class yesterday and it’s always nice to catch up with everyone. It’s just lovely to get together with others who love the same thing as you do and craft together. I hope you have a regular group that you can do that with.
I always love to get together with my online friends as well every Sunday night and share our crafting projects with you. This week at Caseing the Catty, we are casing the Santa’s Workshop section, pages 18-27 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.
Aren’t all those little Santa’s cute! I am doing a different card today though, and have cased the card on page 23 using the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle.
My card is fairly similar to the original but I’ve used the Dashing Along DSP that you can earn for free this month with a workshop of over $400 in sales.
I added gold foil along the sides of the DSP. I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and then cut it out using the largest Oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits. I then cut out a few of the flowers and holly in different colours from the Detailed Poinsettia thinlits. I coloured the holly using Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.
Next up is the lovely Monique.
Make sure you share your project with us over on at our Facebook Group.
And if you are interested, it’s only 46 days until I depart for Orlando!! OMG, I’m so excited!!!!!!!!!
It’s always fun playing with colour at Colour Inkspiration! This week, we are playing with the new Brights collection.
Aren’t they all lovely colours! Now, don’t be like me and grab a colour that used to be in the brights to create your card! At least I’m ahead for the Regals challenge in September!!
So our challenge this week is to create a card using 3 of these gorgeous colours. You can add any of the basics as well. Oh and bling, if you want it.
I have been loving all the samples I’ve seen of the Postcard Pals set. I don’t normally go for such a detailed stamp but I just love those cute animals!
Now I did introduce a couple of neutrals to colour in the squirrel (whose name is George, btw) but I think you’ll forgive me. The base of the card is Coastal Cabana. The next layer is Daffodil Delight which I’ve embossed using the Subtle embossing folder. I just love the gentle distressed look of this folder.
George is coloured with lots of Stampin blends. For his body, I’ve used Crumb Cake, with Ivory for his cheeks. His shirt is Bermuda Bay and the letter box is Soft Suede with a touch of Poppy Parade for the flower. Then a little bit of Granny Apple Green for the grass.
I created a frame in Bermuda Bay using my favourite Stitched Shape framelits and the layering square framelits. The sentiment is from the Postcard Pals set as well.
Isn’t George cute!!
Next up is Nikki, I can’t wait to see what she has created.
Well I’ve had an exciting week visiting China with my sister. We had a great time visiting the Great Wall, the Beijing Zoo, Shaolin Temple and the Yellow River.

So I’ve unpacked, washed and had a great sleep and am ready to jump into the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
I wasn’t going to join in the hop this week as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to have time to create a card. But my new catalogue order arrived whilst I was away and when I opened up the box, I just had to join in!! So many exciting new goodies to play with!!
So this week, we are casing the Tea Room section, pages 13-25 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
I decided to case the card on page 20 using the Botanical Bliss Bundle. Did you know that you save 10% when you purchase a bundle.
This bundle is just so lovely! I can’t wait to play more with them. I pretty much cased the card as is. I used the gorgeous Share What You Specialty DSP. For the background, I used the new Soft Sea Foam cardstock and stamped the flower from the Botanical Bliss stamp set.
The roses and flowers come from the Botanical Tags thinlits. You can use these dies as a tag or there is an additional die that allows you cut the flower out completely.
I used copper embossing powder on the oval and Tranquil Tide for the sentiment. I used copper foil for the leaves in the background and added a little bit of copper metallic thread.
Next up is my lovely friend, Mel.
You can also join us at our Facebook Group and share your creations with us.
I hope you enjoy our hop this week, make sure you leave a comment and let me know!
Welcome back to another Colour Challenge with Colour Inkspiration! And Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you taking the opportunity to tell your loved ones how much you love them.
We have a really lovely combination for you this week with Powder Pink, Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Island Indigo.
Whenever I get ready to create my card for a colour challenge, I get out all the colours in cardstock for inspiration. I then decide upon the stamp set and go from there. So I started with the Butterfly from the Beautiful Da stamp set. I embossed in silver embossing powder on watercolour paper and then coloured with my aqua painter, using Powder Pink, Melon Mambo and Pool Party.
I then layered the card base of Island Indigo with Powder Pink and the watercolour background. I then cut out a scallop circle and a stitched circle and stamped the sentiment from the Sale-a-bration Happy Wishes stamp set, which I then embossed in silver.
I added a Powder Pink shimmer ribbon behind the circles.
I hope you are inspired by my card today. Head on over to Monique for more inspiration!
Make sure you join in with your card using this combo over at our Facebook group.
We are back with our second challenge of the year already! It looks like this year is going to go as fast as 2017, which is good as I’m planning on travelling to Orlando, Florida in November for a Stampin’ Up! 30th anniversary Onstage event. Bring it on!!
We have a gorgeous colour combination this week, of Emerald Envy, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand.
I decided to try a new technique for my background. I had a piece of glossy white cardstock and put drops of each colour (but not sahara sand) over the card. I then spritzed it with Isocol and let the colours blend together. Because I was impatient, I dried it using my heat gun, but you could let it dry on its own.
I really love the Hold on to Hope stamp set and bundle. It was created by Million Sales Achiever Brandy Cox when she got to visit the Stampin’ Up! office.
I created the cross by cutting out the detailed cross framelit and the solid cross framelit and glued them together with the fine tip glue.
For the sentiment, I stamped on Sahara Sand and cut out with the largest stitched circle framelit.
I can’t wait to try other colour combinations using this technique.
Next up is the lovely Nicole. You are going to love her card!
Make sure you share your creation on our Facebook group, here.
Welcome to a new year of Caseing the Catty!! I am so excited to be back and casing the 2018 Occasions Catalogue.
To start the year off, we are casing the Picture Perfect Party section, pages 4-9, of the 2018 Occasions catalogue.
This is a gorgeous suite but I decided to case one of the other cards on these pages. I choose one of the cards on page 9 which features one of the funniest stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! has done in recent years! I just love the Birthday Wit set and I can’t wait to send these cards out!
I think this sentiment is funny but very true for us card makers!
I decided to use the free Sale-a-bration Bubbles & Fizz DSP and then made it standard size rather than a square. I love the Stitched Shapes framelits so I grabbed the largest square for the sentiment. I also used the largest square for the Calypso Coral piece behind it. I used the colours from the DSP (so it all matches, ah happy place), and then hand cut the happy birthday sentiment.
I really like the layout of this card and the simplicity of it. I also love one of the other sentiments in the Birthday Wit stamp set so I used the same layout.
Isn’t this funny! Love it!! I used the markers on the stamp to create the different colours.
Next up is the super talented Kelly who has a fabulous card for you!
