CTC205 – Case a birthday card and give a Christmas Twist

ctc_header

Well I have survived my first week back at work and sadly life is getting back to normal.  But I did put my Christmas tree up this week!!  Actually I should say trees as I have 2.  I need one for just my travelling Christmas ornaments!

This is the main tree!

This week at CTC we are doing something a little different and casing a birthday card and giving it a Christmas Twist.

Sometimes I forget that you can use the Catalogues to case layouts as well as copying cards.  I’ve cased a birthday card from page 77 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.

I decided to use the Snowfall thinlits and the Snow is Glistening stamp set which are only available this month.  The stamp set includes two stamps which were perfect for recreating the look of the cut outs on the original card.  For my centre piece, I used some retired Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for lots of sparkle.  It needed something to make it stand out, so I added a Pacific Point scallop circle behind it.

I put a piece of Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon behind the snow flake.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Alpine Adventure stamp set and punched it using the 1″ circle punch.

The photo doesn’t do it justice as it’s quite sparkly in real life!

The Snowflake Showcase which includes the Snow is Glistening Stamp Set, the Happiness Surrounds Stamp Set, the Snowfall Thinlits and the cute Snowflake trinkets is still available until 30 November so click here to pick yours up from my online store.

Don’t forget the Online Extravangza is still on!  Make sure you don’t miss out.  Check it out here.

Next up is my lovely friend, Rose.

CTC204 – Favourite Holiday Big Shot Project

ctc_header

Well, my amazing holiday is all over and I’m back Caseing the Catty with you!

I had a wonderful time in Orlando, Florida, going to the Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios and of course, attending Onstage Live.

For those who don’t know, Stampin’ Up! holds demonstrator only events every six months, called Onstage.  There is a 3 day Live event held in one region and all the other regions have a 1 day local event.   This event was extra special as it was the 30th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up!  I was also privileged to attended the Centrestage Leadership event which was held at Epcot.

I’ll be doing a blog post this week sharing more about my trip, so make sure you check back.

So back to CTC!  We are casing our Favourite Holiday Big Shot projects from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.

ctc204---fb

I love the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle which includes the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set and the Detailed Poinsettia thinlits.  I haven’t used this set enough!

ctc204-bec-a

I have cased the card on the right with a few changes.  I do love the corrugated embossing folder which I sponged (or dragged the ink pad over) in Whisper White ink.  I added a piece of Lovely Lipstick grosgrain ribbon to the right of the corrugated piece.

Another favourite big shot item is the Stitched Labels framelits, so I used the large label framelit for the sentiment.   I had already cut out the Poinsettia framelits and hadn’t used them, so I just played with the layout.

To purchase the products that I have used to create this card, head down to the bottom of my post where you will see the little images of the products.  Just click on the image and you will be taken to my online store.

Next up is the lovely Monique.

CTC200 – Toil & Trouble

ctc_header

The countdown for Orlando is going very quickly!! It’s 18 days until we go!!  I received my invitation to Centrestage yesterday, which is so exciting.  I get to go to Epcot for an afternoon/evening with all the leaders of Stampin’ Up! It includes entry into Epcot, a special gift, a copy of the Occasions Catalogue and a yummy dessert.  I can’t wait!!

But there’s still a few weeks of CTC to go before I leave!  This week we are casing the Toil & Trouble section, pages 48-55 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.

ctc200---fb

I’m not into Halloween, so I don’t have any of the Halloween sets.  I have based my project on one of the boxes on the title page, which has the spider web on it.

ctc200-bec-b

But I don’t have the boxes so I went with the pillow boxes.  Did you know these come in a packet of 10 for only $8.75.

So, one of the perks of being a demonstrator, is that we get to purchase products early!  There is a great bundle coming in the month of November that is featuring Snowflakes.  There are two stamp sets, Snow is Glistening and Happiness Surrounds, Snowfall thinlits, White Velvet paper and snowflake trinkets.

So I’ve used the Snowfall thinlits and cut out the largest Snowflake in Sparkle Glimmer paper.  I then stamped one of the smaller snowflakes from Snow is Glistening stamp set in Poppy Parade and cut it out with the thinlits.  I then painted in Wink of Stella for a bit of extra bling.

I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes oval framelits.  I then cut out another snowflake in Garden Green and added on the Santa’s Workshop enamel shapes.

ctc200-bec-a

I really love this bundle and I can’t wait to play with it more!

Next up is the lovely Peta.

Stampin’ Up! Product List

It’s an Extravaganza!

ON-LINE-CHRISTMAS-CLASS-copy

My fabulously talented friend, Bronwyn, is running an online Christmas Class Extravaganza at the moment and I am just loving it!!

As you know, I love fancy fold cards and one of our first projects is an Easel card.  I’ve been able to ink up my new Buffalo Check stamp.  Don’t you just love it!  Such a versatile stamp.

I’ve gone with Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover and Whisper White as my colours.  I love traditional Christmas colours!

I’ve used the Detailed Lace Thinlits and did it on both sides of the strip of buffalo check.  Hasn’t it come up pretty!!  My sentiments are from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.
