So onto my projects!! I have to admit I was a little stumped on what to make as there are so many lovely products in this catalogue. I simply couldn’t decide which stamp set to use. I decided to try a sketch challenge and found one at Sweet Sunday Sketch that I liked.

SSSC285

You know how sometimes it’s really hard to cut up Designer Series Paper? Well, I’ve been having a bit of trouble cutting into the Home for Christmas DSP! So I’ve bitten the bullet and done it! Using the colour’s of the DSP, I layered up my card in Real Red, Pool Party and Delightful Dijon.

I used the Cozy Christmas stamp set and inked up the stamp using markers. Doesn’t it look fab!!

I also had to create a matching envelope using the Real Red envelope paper. Did you know that you can get 20 sheets for only $10.50. That’s a lot of cute envelopes!!

I just love the Snowflake as well especially with an Iced Rhinestone on it!!

I also liked the slightly larger Season stamp in the set so I made the same card using a different piece of the Home for Christmas DSP. Oh, and isn’t the Stripes Satin ribbon to die for? I wasn’t a fan to start with but it is very luxurious looking. I can see I’m going to use it a lot.

CTC47 – Let’s Kit Together

Have you seen all the lovely kits at the start of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue? It’s hard to choose which one is the best!! I have got the Tag kit but I’m keeping it to use at an upcoming class, so I was a little stumped as to what to make this week for the CASEing the Catty Challenge.

I decided to do a version of the Shaker Cards featured on page 4.

ctc47

This kit has includes die cut card fronts, envelopes, printed foil card bases, window sheets, gold foil starts, word stickers (in 3 languages), Christmas tree and circle stickers, baker’s twine, star sequins, red, green and gold sequins, dimensional adhesive strips, chunky clear glitter and dimensionals. Wow, that’s a lot!! You can also get the matching stamp set – To You & Yours too, and the coordinating ink pads, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Memento Black.

I decided to use a note card and the only colour I could find in the cupboard was Crumb Cake. I then went with a piece of Typeset DSP to go underneath the cut out. I used the Perfect Pines and the Delicate Ornaments framelits to cut the inserts and then put a piece of window sheet over the hole. I then added dimensionals all around the inside of the cut out and added lots of confetti!! I cut out some garden green hearts using the Confetti Heart punch (as I don’t have the Confetti Star punch) and added lots of sequins from the Metalics sequin assortment.

I then carefully attached it to the base piece and added the word from the Wonderful Wreath framelits. I cut it out using the new precision plate, which worked like a dream, and the new Red foil sheets. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List

It’s an exciting day!!!

Holiday catty promo

Welcome to the first day of Spring!!! And the first day of the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue!!!! It’s always exciting when a new catalogue is released. And this one just has so much lovely stuff in it. I have to say I was really impressed with it when I first saw it.

To celebrate the new catalogue, I wanted to share with you my team swap that I did recently. I was inspired by a demonstration from the US Convention by Pam Morgan of the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and matching punch.

So I started with the medium sized stamp and used White Staz-on to stamp out the image. I went with Staz-on as my craft ink takes forever to dry. I then punched them out with the Flower Medallion punch. Repeat 15 times. Yay!!

I then punched out the larger flurry from the punch in Silver glimmer paper. Have I ever mentioned that I love bling and silver glimmer paper? hehe. I then stamped and punched lots of the smaller flurry in Pool Party ink. I used 4 flurries per ornament. To assemble them, I folded 3 in half, then using the fine tip glue pen, glued each side together and then glued the three to the remaining flat flurry. Once they were all done, it was just a matter of assembling the layers together.

I used the new Softly Falling embossing folder (which is just lovely) and added more glimmer paper and a banner across the bottom. To attach the ornament, I punched two small holes using my 1/16″ hole punch and threaded through the silver cording trim and tied a bow. So once Christmas is over, the lucky recipient can take off the ornament and keep it to put on the tree next year.

Stampin’ Up! Product List:

Welcome to the first ever Pennsationals Team Blog Hop!

penns header

Welcome to the very first Pennsationals team blog hop!! We are a group of excited Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who come under the leadership of the fabulous Tracy Penn. You may be starting the hop here with me or have come from the lovely Roslynne.

As you may know, the Holiday Catalogue starts on 1 September 2015. I can’t wait!!! There are so many lovely Christmas stamps, kits and accessories to choose from!! One of the perks of being a demonstrator is being able to participate in a pre-order of products prior to the official commencement date of the catalogue. I love getting things first!! I did get a bit excited and got quite a few stamps set and accessories so I actually had a bit of trouble deciding what to make for the hop.

I eventually settled on the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and the matching Delicate Ornament thinlit dies, which also come in a bundle, saving 15%.

I decided to make a square card so I don’t these very often and these ornaments are fairly wide and needed a bit more space. I’m a traditional Christmas colour kind of girl, so I went with Real Red as my base and then a matt of Garden Green. I cut out the ornament using the new thinlits on the new Precision Plate. All those little pieces cut beautifully and came out easily. You do still have to poke them out but they are all cut through. I noticed that the centre flower of the longer ornament matched the centre of the other ornament so I ran a small piece through the big shot and snipped out the flower and using the new fine tip glue pen, attached it to the red ornament.

Did you notice that there is even a little die for the top of the ornament. Too cute!! I stamped the holly a number of times across the top to look like branches of holly then coloured them in with my blender pens. I also dug out my Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details and added the red dots across the top. And then left it to dry overnight so there would be no accidents!!!

Once the dazzling details was dry, it was time to assemble. Using the new fine tip glue pen to add the gold ornament was so easy. This glue pen is fast becoming one of my favourite glues!!

I used a sentiment from the Versatile Christmas stamp set which has great sentiments for both the outside and insides of cards.

I hope you have enjoyed my card in the hop today. The next stop is my lovely friend, Tracy Penn.

Pennsationals Christmas Pre-Order Swap

My fabulous team, The Pennsationals, is having a swap this month, using the new products that we were lucky enough to be able to pre-order from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue which is coming out on 1st September.

A swap is where you make, say 10, of the same card and then post 9 out to the other swappers and you will receive back 9 lovely cards of inspiration!! And who doesn’t like to receive happy mail, rather than a bill!!

Whilst it seems a bit early to be doing Christmas cards (and I think the postie will be wondering why there are Christmas stamps on the envelope!!), it’s not too early to get a start on your cards and decorations. There are so many lovely stamps and products in this year’s Holiday Catalogue, that I think I need from now to have enough time to play with everything!!

I decided to use Reason for the Season stamp set and the matching Festive Flower builder punch. This is just one of about 17 bundles in this catalogue. Love a good bundle!! Not telling how many I bought, lol! Ok, not 17!!

penn swap

To create the flower, you will need 8 of the larger petals, 4 of the smaller petal and 2 of the long petals. I then stamped the petals after punching as I was using up my scraps. I don’t think it really makes a difference as to when you stamp them. As the stamp set is polymer, it’s easy to see where you are stamping.

I then punched a 1″ circle from the same cardstock as the petals and using my Multi-purpose glue pen, put a blob of glue and stuck down the four large petals in a cross formation. Then a bit more glue and the remaining 4 petals as an alternate cross. On a second circle, I stuck the four smaller petals in a cross and then added the two longer petals on top of that. Then more glue onto the base and attach to the top of the larger petals. I then punched out two of the little “x” on the punch in Crushed Curry and carefully glued them to the flower. I then set it aside to dry. You could use glue dots to attach the flower together but the glue does give you a bit of wiggle room if the petals isn’t in the right place. I also made 10 flowers for my swaps, so I didn’t want to use a whole roll of glue dots!!

I then layered up my card with a Cherry Cobbler base, then Garden Green, Gold foil (love) and Typeset DSP. Once the flower was dry, I attached it to a doily with a string of sequins and then stamped the sentiment from the Reason for the Season stamp set.

I’m very happy with how my card turned out!! I hope the girls in my team like it too.

Happy Stamping
