CTC153 – Case a Holiday Catalogue Tag

It’s been another lovely week in Queensland!  Summer is definitely coming quickly!

We are casing Tags from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue this week.

As I was flipping through the catalogue, I realised how many tags are actually in there!  So many!  I actually ended up not casing a tag but casing another project and turning it into a tag.  I cased the Stocking and pillow box on page 15.

I love the snowflake included in this set so I had to use that!  I created the base of the tags using the pillow box die and cut it by hand to the score lines.  I used the lovely Merry Music Specialty DSP as the base for the wreath tag.  I then stamped out the holly leaves from the Tags and Trimmings stamp set on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and Wild Wasabi cardstock.  I cut them out using the dies and laid them in a circle to see how they fit.  Once I was happy with the layout, I then attached them using a glue dot under the end of leaf.

I then inked up just a part of the Celebrate the season stamp with versamark and did some white embossing on the black cardstock.  I used the banner triple punch to cut the ends of the banner and used a dimensional to attach it.  To create the holly leaves, I cut the trimming die in Cherry Cobbler and just carefully cut the balls off.  I used the white chalk pen and then some Wink of Stella for a bit of bling.   A small piece of gold ribbon and voila, all done!

I used a second base of the pillow box die as before, and stamped it with the snowflake stamp in Crumb Cake.

I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock.  The “inside” words weren’t quite as solid as I would have like, so I used my black marker to go over the stamping.  I added a piece of Real Red ribbon to the top and bottom of the sentiment piece and used it to create the hanger as well.

I then cut out the snowflake from a piece of Dazzling Diamonds and the Pear Pizzazz button.

I hope you like my tags today.  Make sure you come and join in with the challenge at our facebook group.

Happy Stamping

ESAD 2017 Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds and 3d projects Blog Hop

Welcome to the ESAD 2017 Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds & 3D Projects blog hop!  You may have come from Courtenay Heuston or be starting here with me!

I have created a couple of projects for you tonight.  I wanted to have a play with the Lovely Laurel thinlits so I decided to create a set of napkin holders for my Christmas table.

I created a circle of Silver foil and cut out the wreath from the thinlits in Tranquil Tide.  I then cut out the banner in Gold Glimmer paper.  (Because it’s Christmas and you need sparkle!!)  Now if you could do nice, fancy writing and write a name on it, or you can add a stamp from the Christmas Happiness and cut it out using the Lovely Laurel thinlit.

Of course, if you are having Christmas dinner at your place, you might be wanting to send an invite out.  So I create a matching card.

If you follow me, you’ll notice that I never decorate the inside of my cards!  But, on this card, I did the inside first!

I created the wreath and the banner as per the place holder.  I wanted to add a bigger sentiment into the middle of the card, so I stamped the sentiment from Merry Little Labels using markers.  I then placed it into the middle of the card and gently folded it.  Once I had a fold line on the circle, I then scored it and attached it to the banner.

For the front of my card, I used the Good Tidings stamp set.  I love the rustic look of the holly leaves.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for tonight’s hop.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Next up is my friend, Peta Stephen.

Christmas Bird

When I was choosing my projects for Caseing the Catty this week, I couldn’t decide on just one project!  There are so many lovely cards to case in the Year of Cheer section, pages 36-47.

I have recently purchased a few of the colouring stamp sets as Stampin’ Up! is re-introducing Stampin’ Blends markers.  Demonstrators have been allowed to purchase these markers early and test them out.  I’m still waiting for mine to arrive but I have been wanting to use the Cheery Chirps set so I dug out my aqua painter to colour it.

This is the card I cased, on page 41 of the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I’ve done my card very similar to the original.  I did a watercolour wash in Pool Party on the background with watercolour paper.  I then coloured with the aqua painter using Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry.

I stamped the large sentiment from Merry Patterns using the outline stamp first in Memento black ink and then the solid stamp in Old Olive.

I wanted to play with one of the other birds from the set as well.  I coloured it in a similar manner but I added Wink of Stella over the top.  I also used the Black Vintage trim which is so lovely.

You can still earn the Merry Patterns stamp set for free this month.  Just host a workshop or place an order of $450.  Contact me to arrange a date!

CTC149 – Year of Cheer

I had a lovely day of crafting on Saturday and made lots of cards!  It’s always nice to play in the craft room knowing all the jobs are done and have a clear conscience!!

This week we are casing the Year of Cheer suite, pages 36 -47, of the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

There are so many lovely stamps and papers in this section and I have lots of these goodies that I haven’t had much opportunity to play with.  I decided to case the card on page 36 which uses the gorgeous Winter Wonder Textured Impressions embossing folder.

I decided to go with a gold theme, although I kept it pretty similar to the original.  Have you seen the Year of Cheer washi tape?  It’s so lovely.  I’ve used the one with a few colours in it.

The sentiment comes from the Christmas Happiness stamp set and I’ve embossed it in gold.  I punched a circle from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and another from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  Make sure when you use the acetate that you peel off the protective layer of film.  It makes it look much better without it!

Of course, I used gold mini sequins.

I love how this has turned out!!

Next up is the lovely Rachel.

CTC148 – Kits and Memories & More

Those of us in Queensland are flying into Summer this year!  It has been so hot this week, although today it has cooled down today fortunately.

We are casing the Kits and Memories & More sections of the 2017 Holiday catalogue and the 2017-2018 Annual catalogue.

I love all the Stampin’ Up! kits.  They are great for stampers of all levels of experience.  I always use a kit each year to give my Pop for his birthday.  It’s hard to know what to get a 93 year old, so on his birthday, he gets Christmas cards and for Christmas, he gets Birthday cards to last him the year for all the family.

It’s his birthday next week, so I made the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit for him.  Check out the kit on page 33 on the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

So you need the kit and the matching stamp set, Watercolor Christmas, and some dimensionals and fine tip glue pen.  I always sort out all the pieces first and then did the stamping.  Oh and a stamp-a-ma-jig for making sure the stamps are straight.

All of these cards have great layouts but I decided to case the last one using the Whole lot of Lovely DSP and the Sending Love stamp set.

I think this turned out pretty nice!  What do you think?

Oh and speaking of DSP, did you know that Stampin’ Up! are having a sale this month where if you buy 3 packs of Designer Series Paper, you can get another for free!

Next up is my lovely friend across the pond, Jackie Noble.

CTC147 – Christmas Around the World

Well Summer has hit with a vengeance!!  It’s 27.5 degrees today but it feels hotter.  What is Summer going to be like!!

We are casing the Christmas Around the World section, pages 28-35 of the 2017 Holiday catalogue.

As I was flipping through the pages of this weeks’ section, I got excited to see that it included the Snowflake Sentiments bundle!

I’ve recently purchased this set so this was my first opportunity to try it out.  I am casing the box on page 35 but making it as a card.

I had a couple of attempts and it took me a while to punch out the little pieces!  There’s a lot of confetti happening at my place today!

I used the Be Merry DSP from the Annual Catalogue for the strip across the middle.    I also love the sentiments in this stamp set especially the large Season’s Greeting.

Once I got all the little pieces out, this card actually didn’t take too long to put together.

Next up is the lovely Rose.

Make sure you join in with us this week, over at our Facebook page.

CTC145 – Merry Little Christmas

Aren’t you just loving the Holiday Catalogue!!  If you don’t have one, you NEEEED one!!  Let me know if you want one and I’ll post one to you, or you can click on the link at the side.

This week, we are casing the Merry Little Christmas section, pages 10-19, of the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

I decided to case the card on page 17 using the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.

I just love the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  It’s hard to decide which side to use as both look fabulous.  I pretty much cased the card exactly but I used a gold metallic doily instead.  I have to confess that I had to stamp the wreath about 6 times!!!  I couldn’t believe it!  I either stuffed up the distressed circle or the flower wreath.

I wanted to make a second version using the Wood Textures DSP stack.  I also just coloured the wreath using my aqua painter and Pear Pizzazz ink.   And I added a white doily this time.

Which one do you prefer?  I think I like the DSP version.

Next up on the hop is the amazing Fi.
