CTC108 – Holiday Kits

ctc_header

Hi there!!  I’m back from holidays and finally caught up enough to join back in with CTC.  I had a great time cruising to New Zealand with my mum and sister.  New Zealand is a gorgeous place!  I’m going back there to explore further soon.

So this week at CTC, we are casing the Holiday Kits.

I had made the Stitched with Cheer kit for my Pop as his birthday present in October so that he had cards to send out for Christmas.  I give him xmas cards for his birthday and birthday cards for his xmas present!!  Keeps him going for the family all year around!!  After all, what do you get a 93 year old (aside from chocolate coated peanuts!!)

But I didn’t have any cards left so I decided to create my own using the samples as inspiration.  This is why I love Casing the Catty as it goes to show that you don’t need to re-invent the wheel all the time and cards don’t have to be over the top to be lovely.

I used the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack as my dsp of choice.  I also used the gold twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio pack and separated the strands to just 2 to make it less chunky.

I was trying to experiment with creating my own background on the next one.  Not sure it was quite successful, but oh well! I used the Stitched Shape framelits (which will be back in stock soon) and added the silver ribbon from the Glitter ribbon combo pack.

I re-created the trees on the third card using one of the trees from the Perfect Pines framelits in the Annual Catalogue.

I hope you are inspired by the cards I have created from this kit.  Check out what Kelly has made using the same kit as her inspiration.next
