CTC89 – Christmas

ctc_header

Happy Christmas in July!!  We are celebrating Christmas in July again at CTC this week.    One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is being able to see new catalogues first.  And this week, we got to see the Holiday catalogue!!!  Oh my goodness, there are so many lovely new things to play with!!  But there are still lovely Christmassy things to enjoy in the Annual Catalogue so that’s what we are sharing this week.

Oh how I love This Christmas DSP!!  It would have to be one of my favourite Xmas dsp’s for a long time.   For my first project tonight, I have cased the Acorn card at the bottom on page 36.

I’ve turned this into a Christmas card by changing the colours but basically I’ve stayed within the same sketch.  I used the Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set on the left side of the card.  Instead of using an embossed piece, I used a piece of the This Christmas DSP.  I also changed to the new Delicate White doilies (cos I just got them and I needed to use one!!) Of course a Christmas card isn’t complete without glitter so a Gold Glimmer banner to the rescue!  I am in love with these new banners and I had to get the hostess set, Time of Year, on my last order.

I struggle with making random circles with twine, but I had a go on this card.  Lol.

For my second project, I had to make the popcorn box on page 35.

This glimmer paper box is the reason why I had to buy the popcorn box thinlits.  I don’t usually buy these types of thinlits but I had to have this one!!  It’s too cute!!!  I basically did an exact case as I just love it.  I added a Wink of Stella to the word for an extra bit of sparkle.  You can never have too much bling!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects tonight. Next is the lovely Elizabeth.

  1. Gorgeous Bec – love that we had the same idea for the hop! Your box re-creation is stunning! So much gold! And your card is lovely – you totally nailed the twine! Kelly x

  2. Love the card, you’ve really adapted it so well. However, the popcorn box in glimmer paper takes my breath away with its glimmer and glitter. How many can you cut from a sheet of 12″ X 12″?

  3. Bec these are gorgeous. I don’t have the popcorn box but maybe i need it too now!!!! Love your Christmas card and I think you nailed the random string circle! – Mostly I love that the plain elements highlight the pattern on the DSP.
