ESAD 2017 Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds and 3d projects Blog Hop

Welcome to the ESAD 2017 Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds & 3D Projects blog hop!  You may have come from Courtenay Heuston or be starting here with me!

I have created a couple of projects for you tonight.  I wanted to have a play with the Lovely Laurel thinlits so I decided to create a set of napkin holders for my Christmas table.

I created a circle of Silver foil and cut out the wreath from the thinlits in Tranquil Tide.  I then cut out the banner in Gold Glimmer paper.  (Because it’s Christmas and you need sparkle!!)  Now if you could do nice, fancy writing and write a name on it, or you can add a stamp from the Christmas Happiness and cut it out using the Lovely Laurel thinlit.

Of course, if you are having Christmas dinner at your place, you might be wanting to send an invite out.  So I create a matching card.

If you follow me, you’ll notice that I never decorate the inside of my cards!  But, on this card, I did the inside first!

I created the wreath and the banner as per the place holder.  I wanted to add a bigger sentiment into the middle of the card, so I stamped the sentiment from Merry Little Labels using markers.  I then placed it into the middle of the card and gently folded it.  Once I had a fold line on the circle, I then scored it and attached it to the banner.

For the front of my card, I used the Good Tidings stamp set.  I love the rustic look of the holly leaves.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for tonight’s hop.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Next up is my friend, Peta Stephen.

Merry Patterns and Chocolate Holders

Did I get your attention with the word Chocolate?  I hope so!!

I have another tutorial from Brownyn Eastley to share with you today, the Christmas Chocolate holder.  Check it out here.

I’ve used the Merry Patterns stamp set and the cute deer that is a part of it.  Did you know that you can earn this stamp set for free this month when you have a workshop and have over $450 in sales.

This tutorial is easy to follow. As always, Bronwyn’s instructions are clear and easy.  These instructions allow you to create two holders at once.

I used the Be Merry DSP from the Annual Catalogue as I like the red, green and white colour combo.  And that way, I could also use the Quilted Christmas ribbon.

I did have to do a bit of fussy cutting on the deer but I think it makes it pop.  I did add an eye to the deer with just a black dot using a marker.  I also put Wink of Stella over the deer but it doesn’t show in the photo.

I love the look of the scallop circle on the inside. You can add in a chocolate but I didn’t have any at home that would fit into the slot.

These holders would make great teacher gifts, class gifts or a little extra gift on the table on Christmas day.

Happy Stamping

ESAD Holiday Catalogue Hop

I’m so excited to be a part of the ESAD 2017 Holiday Catalogue blog hop!  And to be sharing a couple of my favourite Holiday projects with you!

So you might be starting the hop with me, or have come from the talented Ellen Woodbridge.  Just make sure you keep following the next button to see all the amazing inspiration from the Holiday Catalogue.

There are lots of fabulous stamp sets and products in this catalogue!!  I decided to create my first project using the Good Tidings stamp set.

I started off with using the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder which I just received this week to add some texture to the background.  I then stamped up a piece using the holly stamps from the set.  I stamped off once using garden green for the solid image and then didn’t for the second image.

I then stamped the sentiment from the set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out using the circle framelits.  I also did a silver foil circle and a scalloped circle in Cherry Cobbler.  And wait for it, I USED washi tape!!  I used the new Year of Cheer Specialty washi tape (which is so lovely!!) and a piece from the Basics Pack 2 washi tape.  I will get through my washi 2″ at a time!!

For my second card, I wanted to do something other than Christmas.  The Painted Harvest stamp set is beautiful!!  When I first saw it, I wasn’t convinced, but seeing many demonstrator samples over the past month has made me change my mind and fall in love with it.

I love that you can do so many different colour combinations for the flowers, however today, I’ve gone fairly traditional.  I started with the centre of the flower using Early Espresso.  I then used Daffodil Delight for the solid image and then used Pumpkin Pie for the next image and then did my favourite thing, fussy cutting.  NOT!

I stamped the leaves on the cardstock in Old Olive and the sentiment in Early Espresso.

This is a quick and easy card to re-create.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards tonight.  Next up is the amazing Mandy.

Make sure you leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my projects!  A list of the participants is below in case you get lost on the hop.

A small wonder

I don’t know about you but I enjoy doing easy projects every once in a while. I was feeling like exploring doing a One Sheet Wonder but didn’t really have the time to make 11 or 12 cards.

After spending some time (more than I care to admit!!) on Pinterest, I found a One Sheet Wonder for 6″x6″ dsp here on SMD Paper Arts, which creates just 3 cards.

I decided to use the Wood Textures DSP Stack as it’s already the right size! I then trimmed it according to the template.  I did have to trim a little extra as our Aussie cardstock is a little bit smaller than US.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to use a few of my sympathy cards lately, so I needed to make a few to have handy in my stash.  I’ve used the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set and embossed the sentiments with gold.  The photos don’t really do the embossing justice.

I added a strip of the new black shimmer ribbon which has a little sparkle to it.  I then used the layering framelits and the stitched shape framelits for the sentiment piece.

Hopefully, I won’t need to use these soon but if I do, I’ll have them ready.

A one sheet wonder template is a great resource when you are short of ideas and you get to showcase our gorgeous designer series paper.

Leave me a comment and tell me which is your favourite dsp from the current catalogue.  I’ll feature the most popular one next week.

CTC132 – Birthdays

It’s so exciting!!  My new catalogue order arrived this week!!  I petted, patted and drooled over it.  But did I stamp with it?  Nope!!  I’ve had a busy couple of days and I’m working this weekend, so I’ll be playing next week.  Can’t wait!!

We are casing the Birthday section of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue, pages 68-85.

Once again, there are so many amazing cards to case in this section.  I realised that I haven’t used the Sweet Cupcake stamp set for ages, but I liked the sample on the page 85.

I decided to create the base layer on a separate piece of card so that if there was a mistake, I wasn’t wasting the whole card.  I started with the Happy Birthday stamp from the Sweet Cupcake set using Tranquil Tide.  I accidently had them a bit too far apart.  When I looked at the stamp set, it has a very handy belated stamp!  I stamped in it Powder Pink.

I stamped the cake base and the bottom layer of icing in Powder Pink.  I then did the top layer of icing in Berry Burst.  I also added some Clear Stella.  You always need sparkle on a cake!!  hehe!!

I used the Layered circle framelits for the base and the Birthday banner stamp set and matching Bunch of Banners framelits.

Actually I did use one of my new products!!  You’ll never guess, cos you can’t see it!!  I got the new mini dimensionals!!!  They are too cute!!

I also added some thick white twine.  I’m rather happy with the end result!!  Now who’s birthday did I miss!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Julia.

Don’t forget to pop over to our Facebook group where you can join in with the challenge.  And if you are an Australian or New Zealand demonstrator, we are looking for more Crew members.  Just participate in June’s challenges and we will consider you.

Happy Caseing!

Oh Happy Day

It’s the best day of the Stampin’ Up! calendar!!  Well actually it was yesterday but I had to work and didn’t get a chance to blog.

It’s a new catalogue!!  Woo Hoo!!  Have you had a chance to see this gorgeous new catalogue.  It will keep you quiet for hours whilst you check out all the new goodies.  If you want to see it online, click here, or I’m happy to post one out to you.  Just send me an email at stampinwithrebecca@yahoo.com.au and I’ll get one off to you.

I have had the catalogue since the start of April when I attended the Stampin’ Up! Onstage event in Sydney.  I’ve had my catalogue bound at Officeworks and had a spiral edge put on it.  I do this every year although it’s always hard to be separated from my catty!  But it’s worth it as it stops it getting tatty.

I was lucky enough to receive the Ribbon of Courage stamp set as a Prize Patrol at Onstage.  I think this is a great set and will be handy for fundraising events.

I didn’t receive the framelits, but you can bet they were one of the first things on my order!

My team did a swap after Onstage and I decided to use this set.  I was inspired by one of the amazing Artisan’s, Kimberly Van Diepen, with her lovely card highlight Autism Awareness.

I used the new Berry Burst In Colour which is quickly becoming one of my new favourites.  I also have to say that the Stitched Shape framelits are my favs as well!!

I just love this set and I’m sure I will be using it a lot.

If you need it too, you can order at my online store, here.  Make sure you use hostess code, T3PYE2CD, to go into the draw to receive a gift from me.

Happy New Catalogue Shopping!

CI08

I hope you enjoyed the last colour challenge.  It was so nice seeing everyone’s entries!!  Congratulations to the winners.

I found the colours for this next challenge to be, well, challenging!!  Definitely not colours I would put together myself but that’s the point of doing a challenge.  To try different combinations!!

In case you can’t read the tiny writing, the colours are Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

I decided to make my background using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set.  I hesitated to buy this set when it first came out in the Holiday catalogue but I liked all the samples I saw, so when I found it was carrying through, I purchased it along with the matching framelits.  But I haven’t used it until today!!!

Two of my favourite framelits at the moment are the Layering Circles (oh and the squares and ovals) and the Stitched Shape framelits.  They just go so nicely together.  My sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

I hope you have enjoyed my card.  Please leave a comment and let me know.

Oh and make sure you check out the clearance rack as lots of new products have been added.

Next up on the hop is Monique.  I can’t wait to see what she has created.

Happy Stamping
