CTC119 – Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

I can’t believe that we are halfway through March already!!  Last year seem to go so slow waiting for my trip to New York and now it’s been nearly 5 months since I returned!

It’s finally starting to get a bit cooler here in Queensland.  Bring on Autumn, I say!!

This week we are casing the final section of the Sale-a-bration catalogue, pages 16-19. But don’t worry, Sale-a-bration isn’t finished yet and neither are we!

This section includes the Hey Chick set and I have to admit this is not my favourite set although all the creations I have seen look amazing.  So far, it is actually the most popular SAB stamp set in all the Stampin’ Up! markets.

I decided to case the chicken card on the right on page 15.

I’m having a market stand on the day before Mother’s Day so I’m planning on making a few Mother’s Day cards for all those last minute shoppers.  I went with Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand as my colours and used the Double Take stamp set for the sentiment.  I kept the same Large Polka Dot embossing folder as the original.

I just love the Make a Medallion SAB stamp set and made my circles.  I am slightly addicted to the layering circle framelits at the moment so this set was perfect for me!  To create the banner, I tried the solid love image in Pink Pirouette but it didn’t stand out very well on the Sahara Sand card stock so I used Rose Red and stamped off first then onto the cardstock which turned out much better.  I then stamped the second thin love without stamping off for a darker colour.

It needed a bit of bling, so I added a few rhinestones to the centre of the medallion.

I was then drawn to the Designer Tee samples on page 18 and decided to case the t-shirt card on the right.

I like the sentiments in the Designer Tee stamp set although I don’t have the matching framelits.  I had a flip through my DSP and decided to use the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP stack.  I’ve been practising my watercolour technique and I seem to be getting the knack of it.  Being patient and just waiting for it to dry before adding more colour helps a lot!!

Once again, the layering circle framelits with their complimentary Stitched shapes framelits make an appearance!  I’m pretty happy with how this card turned out!!

Time is running out to earn your favourite sale-a-bration products, so place your qualifying $90 order with me today.  Here’s a link to my online store.  Don’t forget SAB ends on 31 March!

Next up on our hop today is the lovely Kathryn.

I was inspired by the card in the middle on page 12, featuring the Tasty Trucks stamp set.

I decided to use the new Sale-a-bration stamp set, Make a Medallion as I hadn’t inked it up yet.  I also wanted to use the Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper (which is also a new SAB freebie).  I went to the My Creak Ink site and put in Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White and it came up a few suggestions.  I decided to go with Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Island Indigo.

I used the same Sparkle embossing folder as it’s cute.  I then stamped the medallions using Island Indigo and Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum.  To cut out the circles, I used the Layering Circle famelits.  I just love the scallops!!

Here’s a close up of the circle. It’s so sparkly!!

I decided to use a sketch to help me along, so I went to my favourite sketch site, Mojo Monday.  I liked their current sketch, 482,  so decided to use that one.

I love the Pretty Kitty stamp set and I thought the kitties would be perfect for the squares.  I love all the layering framelits and that the Stitched Shapes framelits match them perfectly.  Without further ado, here’s my card!

I even made an envelope!!  Here’s a close up of the kitties.  I used blender pens to colour them in.

CTC92 – Everyday Occasions

ctc_header

It looks like we may have seen the last of winter in Queensland and starting to head into Spring!!  It’s a gorgeous day today!!

Today we are back casing the Everyday Occasions section of the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue on pages 66-91.  This is a huge section and there are so many gorgeous projects to case.

For those who don’t know, I am the mother of two fat kitties, Shadow and Jaster.  We rescued them from foster care, 5 years ago this month and I’ve been a slave every since!!  Don’t they look happy to have their photo taken!!  That’s Shadow at the back and Jaster at the front.   I have discovered that it is very difficult to take a nice photo of a shiny black cat.

ctc92-cats

So of course, I had to get the Pretty Kitty stamp set featured on page 101 of the catalogue.

ctc92-bec-b

I’ve pretty much cased the card exactly except that I changed the kitty stamp and used the White perfect accents instead of rhinestones.  You might notice that I stamped the flowers using a marker and colouring only part of the flowers on the stamp and then drawing in some more grass to extend it along.

So the boys are all set for their card for Father’s Day, now to decide what to make for my Dad!!

So next on the hop is Debbie, I can’t wait to see what she has made!!
