CTC185 – Best Route

ctc_header

As I write this post, it’s just started to rain!  YAY!!  We have had a fun week with water.  Last weekend, our water tanks ran dry and we had to get a delivery of water.  After drinking tank water for 11 years, I can really tell the difference!!  Blerk!!

Can you believe that we have only had the new catalogue for a month?  Doesn’t it seem like it came out ages ago?  Maybe it’s just me, but it feels like this year is just zooming past.

We are casing the Best Route section, pages 52-65 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.  I love the Best Route DSP and all the gorgeous accessories that go with it, like the enamel shapes, washi tape and the Maps Etc embossing folder.

I chose to case one of the cards on page 65 (but not the kitty one!).  I went with the pink one at the back.

The Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty DSP is simply stunning.  You can do so much with this paper.  There are 6 distinct patterns which can be used on with the Delightfully Detailed Note cards and envelopes.  And then there are full sheets which can be cut out, which I have done for this card.  I coloured it using markers with Powder Pink and Soft Sea Foam.

I wanted to use a new colour, so I went with Highland Heather as the background which I stamped using the little crosses from the Stitched All Around stamp set.

I then sponged the back of the cut out with Multi purpose glue and carefully placed it onto the background.

I cut out a scallop circle from the Layering Circle framelits in Soft Sea Foam and the circle from the Stitched Labels framelits in Powder Pink.  I stamped the thank you stamp from Stitched All Around stamp set twice, once in Powder Pink and in Highland Heather and then cut out the thank you and layered it over the pink.

I added a piece of the polka dot tulle ribbon behind the circle which has a nice little bit of sparkle in it.

CTC180 – Favourite Retiring Project

ctc_header

I’ve been pretty busy over the last couple of weeks as I had my catalogue launch last weekend.  I know it’s a bit early but we’ve been invited to a wedding this weekend and next weekend, I’m going to China for a week with my sister! Fun times ahead!

It’s an exciting week for Stampin’ Up!  It’s the end of a catalogue but more excitingly it’s the start of a new one!!  On June 1, the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue will commence.  I’m still deciding what I “need” to get!

But, here at CTC we are doing our final case of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and 2018 Occasions Catalogue.  We are sharing our favourite retiring projects from either catalogue.

ctc180-fb

As I had my catty launch last weekend, I’ve taken all my retired products out of my craft room and they are in an untidy pile in another room!!  So it was too hard to dig through and find my favourite retiring sets.

But, one of my favourite products from any catalogue is the stunning Designer Series Paper.  Every year, I can’t wait to see what pretty papers I need to have. Who am I kidding, I need them all!

I love the Fresh Florals DSP Stack from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue in the 2017-2019 In Colours.  Such pretty designs.

One stamp set that I’m sad to see go is Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  This is such a handy set with a sentiment for every occasion.  But never fear, there is another set to replace it, the Itty Bitty Greetings set.

I have cased this card on page 37.

It also showcases my favourite retiring floral set, Rose Wonder.  Love that set!

As we are going to a wedding today, I decided to create a wedding card.  So I used the Berry Burst floral page from the Fresh Florals DSP Stack.  Instead of the flower, I created a group of circles and stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  I stamped off the ink to create the different shades.  I love the sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set.  Perfect for a wedding!

I even stamped on the inside which you know I rarely do!  But it’s a special occasion!!

I hope you like my card today!  Please leave me some comments below and let me know!

Next up is my sweet friend, Rose.  I can’t wait to see what amazing creation she has done this week.

It’s seems like only just the other day we had a colour challenge!  This year is already flying past so quickly!!

We have another great colour combo for you this week!  It’s Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Sweet Sugarplum and Lemon Lime Twist.

I went with the Cake Soiree stamp set but decided to use the large present stamp and not the cakes for something different.

I stamped in Memento Ink and coloured the image using markers.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink and cut out the circles from the Layering Circle framelits.  The sweet little butterfly is from the matching Sweet Cake Framelits.

I love the clean and simple look of this card.

Next up is my lovely friend across the pond, Jackie.

Spring Planter

Well, it’s not Spring here at the moment, (in fact, this been a really hot, humid summer) but you can always appreciate pretty flowers!

I love Bronwyn’s Spring Planter Box Card with it’s pretty array of flowers.

Addinktive Design team button - December 2017

I decided to use the Wood Textures DSP stack for the planter box part.  I then used the Petals & More thinlits for the leaves.  I then used the May Flowers framelits and the matching Falling Flowers stamp set.  I used the Subtles collection cardstock to create a pretty bunch.  These colours look so lovely together.

I made a slight mistake in that I got stuck into attaching the flowers and then realised that I had used the bottom of the planter so the pieces to attach the flowers are lower down.  I had used fast fuse so there was no undoing!  That stuff sticks well!

This tutorial is great to follow, and so easy to understand.  Just click here to purchase it today.

These flowers are perfect for me as my pussy cats like to eat any flowers that come into the house!

I hope you like my planter box!  Please leave me a comment and let me know.
