CTC174 – Hostess and Memories & More

ctc_header

Well it’s been a fun two weeks at the Commonwealth Games!  I’ve been volunteering as a Game Shaper in Spectator Services at the Carrara Sports & Leisure Centre.  We had weightlifting, wresting, para-power lifting and badminton here over the two weeks.   Here are a couple of pics of me having fun!

This is at the wrestling, which I really enjoyed watching!

This was my team that I worked with on one shift. We got to have a group photo with Borobi, the Games Mascot.

So my last shift was today.  It’s been a fun couple of weeks, although I will be happy to not be standing on my feet all day!

Back to Caseing the Catty, which I have missed being a part of.  We are casing the Hostess section and the Memories & More section of both the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and the 2018 Occasions Catalogue.

I decided to case one of the Memories and More projects from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue on page 24.

I love the cards in the Petal Passion Memories & More card pack.  They are not just for scrapbooking!

I was inspired by the bird card at the bottom.  I used a piece of Bundle of Love DSP for the background and cut out the flowers from Petals & More thinlits dies in gold foil.

For my second card, I was inspired by the smaller card at the top of the page with the black circle.

I used one of the Memories and More cards and cut out the sentiment using an Oval Stitched Shape die.  The DSP is from the Delightful Daisy DSP.  I used the same thinlit from Petals & More thinlits and added a few rhinestones.

Both of these cards were really quick and easy to make.  Make sure you check out the Memories & More cards to use for fast card making!

Next up is the lovely Rachel.

CTC167 – Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

I hope you have had a great week!  We’ve had a bit of rain over the last couple of days, which is perfect for guilt free crafting!!

We are back casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  Did you know that we have also had a second release of SAB items?  There are three/four new items to earn for free!!  There’s a cute Eclectic Expressions stamp set, a stunning pack of specialty DSP – Springtime Foils, and another level 2 freebie, the Blossoming Basket bundle which includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set and the Basket Weave embossing folder.

ctc167-fb

I am attempting to be organised this year and get my blogging projects ready a week before I need them so that I don’t have to rush to get it all done by Sunday.  And I was on track this week but I received a parcel on Friday which included the Blossoming Basket bundle and I had to add an extra project to my blog!

Firstly, I decided to case one of the cards on the cover the 2nd release SAB catalogue that features the gorgeous Springtime Foils Specialty DSP.  This DSP has to be one of my favourites!  It features gold foil, rose gold foil and silver foil.  Bling it on!!!

ctc167-bec-b

Isn’t this card just so lovely?  I am also a fan of the Celebrate You thinlits (so glad that these are carrying through to the next Annual Catalogue). Sadly I didn’t have the DSP at the time I made the card, so I used the Petal Palette stamp set and embossed the flowers in copper embossing powder, on thick whisper white cardstock and used the Petals and More thinlits to cut them all out.  I added a banner of Powder Pink and cut the Amazing thinlit in Pear Pizzazz.  I coloured one bunch of flowers using my aqua painter and added a swirl of copper foil.

I added a little banner for the sentiment from the SAB Amazing You stamp set.

So for my second card, I cased the yellow card but I used Sweet Sugarplum instead.

ctc167-bec-d

I love the Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folders! The detail is so amazing!! I spritzed a piece of thick whisper white cardstock and ran it through my bigshot and went wow!!

I stamped the basket twice and coloured the base with crumb cake and cut it out.  I then coloured the flowers in Sweet Sugarplum and Old Olive.  I added a butterfly in Peekaboo Peach.  I also added a bit of stella because, well, I love it!  Oh and I used a Daffodil Delight marker to colour the centre of the flowers.

I added the ticket tear border punch along the edge.  I used the Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment.

Spring Planter

Well, it’s not Spring here at the moment, (in fact, this been a really hot, humid summer) but you can always appreciate pretty flowers!

I love Bronwyn’s Spring Planter Box Card with it’s pretty array of flowers.

Addinktive Design team button - December 2017

I decided to use the Wood Textures DSP stack for the planter box part.  I then used the Petals & More thinlits for the leaves.  I then used the May Flowers framelits and the matching Falling Flowers stamp set.  I used the Subtles collection cardstock to create a pretty bunch.  These colours look so lovely together.

I made a slight mistake in that I got stuck into attaching the flowers and then realised that I had used the bottom of the planter so the pieces to attach the flowers are lower down.  I had used fast fuse so there was no undoing!  That stuff sticks well!

This tutorial is great to follow, and so easy to understand.  Just click here to purchase it today.

These flowers are perfect for me as my pussy cats like to eat any flowers that come into the house!

I hope you like my planter box!  Please leave me a comment and let me know.

Playing with Brusho

I recently purchased the new Brusho Crystal Colours which came out in the 2018 Occasions catalogue and I love it!!

At first, I thought it looked too hard and wasn’t for me.  But then I watched a few videos and decided that maybe I could!

I used watercolour paper and had a play with all the colours.  I put a few small holes in the top of the container and sprinkled a bit of the colour onto the paper.  I then spritzed it with water and let the colours blend.  Wow is all I can say!!

brusho

To create the two blue pieces, I had sprinkled quite a lot of blue brusho on the paper and spritzed it a lot.  As it was quite wet, I decided to put a second piece on top of it to soak up the colour.  I’m pretty happy how both pieces turned out.

So I’ve created two cards out of these pieces so far.

I used the red piece (which looks a bit pink) and cut out the flowers from the Petals and More thinlits.  Aren’t they so pretty?

brusho-2

My second card features the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set.  I embossed it in silver embossing powder and then started with the yellow brusho powder and spritzed it.  Once the colours started to blend, I then added more of the red powder and let it do it’s magic.

The sentiment on the banner is also from the Beautiful Day set.

brusho-1

I’m so happy with these and I can’t wait to play more!  If you would like to have a play, I recommend just diving in and giving it a try.  What’s the worst that can happen?

I hope you have a great week!!

Happy Stamping

I found the Mermaid

I just love playing with Bronwyn Eastley’s tutorials for 3d cards!  This week I am using the Magical Day Double Z Fold Card.  You can check out Bronwyn’s tutorial, here.

Addinktive Design team button - December 2017I love the Myths and Magic Specialty DSP.  Every page is sparkly!  It’s also slightly thicker card stock so it’s good for a 3d card as it’s nice and sturdy.

My niece is turning 18 shortly so I thought this would be a great card for her.  I went with the Mermaid page of the DSP and fussy cut them out.  I also did a few of the shells and seahorses.

I used the SAB Celebrate You thinlits for the sentiment and layered it with Melon Mambo and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.

I used the Petals and More thinlits to create the seaweed.  I also cut a couple of the flowers from the Eclectic Layers thinlits to create the look of coral.

If you would like to purchase the tutorial to create this card, make sure you check out Bronwyn’s store here.

Don’t forget you can earn the Celebrate You thinlits for free when you place an order on my online store.
