CTC232 – Artistic Expressions

Welcome to the first challenge of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue!! Have you placed your order yet? Mine should be arriving tomorrow!!

For our first challenge, we are casing the Artistic Expressions section, pages 106-159.

I was inspired by the card on page 131 which features some no line colouring.

So I used the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and attempted to create flowers using the flower image in the set. As you may notice from my card below, I was not happy with how they turned out! I think I need to practise this technique a bit more before I publicly share it.

I am rather taken with the Garden Lane DSP and I think it makes for perfect backgrounds. I added a sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade set and cut it out in Flirty Flamingo with the Stitched Labels dies. I added a piece of the new Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon as well. It’s so pretty!!

Tell me which is your favourite new DSP? It’s a bit hard to choose just one!

Next up is my lovely friend, Liz.

We would love to see what has inspired you in the Artistic Expressions section so add your creation to our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping

CTC204 – Favourite Holiday Big Shot Project

Well, my amazing holiday is all over and I’m back Caseing the Catty with you!

I had a wonderful time in Orlando, Florida, going to the Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios and of course, attending Onstage Live.

For those who don’t know, Stampin’ Up! holds demonstrator only events every six months, called Onstage.  There is a 3 day Live event held in one region and all the other regions have a 1 day local event.   This event was extra special as it was the 30th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up!  I was also privileged to attended the Centrestage Leadership event which was held at Epcot.

Hanging out with new friends

The CTC Crew – Me, Kathryn, Bronwyn, Rachel and Judy

I’ll be doing a blog post this week sharing more about my trip, so make sure you check back.

So back to CTC!  We are casing our Favourite Holiday Big Shot projects from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.

I love the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle which includes the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set and the Detailed Poinsettia thinlits.  I haven’t used this set enough!

I have cased the card on the right with a few changes.  I do love the corrugated embossing folder which I sponged (or dragged the ink pad over) in Whisper White ink.  I added a piece of Lovely Lipstick grosgrain ribbon to the right of the corrugated piece.

Another favourite big shot item is the Stitched Labels framelits, so I used the large label framelit for the sentiment.   I had already cut out the Poinsettia framelits and hadn’t used them, so I just played with the layout.

To purchase the products that I have used to create this card, head down to the bottom of my post where you will see the little images of the products.  Just click on the image and you will be taken to my online store.

Next up is the lovely Monique.

Make sure you join in with us and share your favourite Holiday Big Shot project over at our Facebook group.

It’s an Extravaganza!

My fabulously talented friend, Bronwyn, is running an online Christmas Class Extravaganza at the moment and I am just loving it!!

As you know, I love fancy fold cards and one of our first projects is an Easel card.  I’ve been able to ink up my new Buffalo Check stamp.  Don’t you just love it!  Such a versatile stamp.

I’ve gone with Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover and Whisper White as my colours.  I love traditional Christmas colours!

I’ve used the Detailed Lace Thinlits and did it on both sides of the strip of buffalo check.  Hasn’t it come up pretty!!  My sentiments are from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.

Make sure you check out all the information about the Online Christmas Extravangza here.

Happy Stamping!

CTC191 – Nature’s Poem

It is so windy at my place today!!  Wait, is the Ekka on?  You bet it is!!  It’s always windy when the Ekka is happening in Brisbane.  My kitty cats have a bad case of static from the wind.

We are casing the Nature’s Poem section, pages 142 – 153 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.

As I flipped through this section, I realised that I only have two stamp sets in this entire section!  Now don’t hate me, but I’m actually not a fan of tree stamps!  I don’t own Lovely as a Tree and I don’t intend to buy it (cos if I did, that would be the year it retires, lol!!)

For my card this week, I am casing the leaf card on page 144.

I was inspired by the leaves to use the Blended Seasons stamp set and framelits.  I started with Cajun Craze (yes, one of my least used colours!) and the Nature’s Poem DSP.  I then cut out a couple of leaves using the framelits in Cajun Craze and Mango Melody.  I then sponged the mango ones with Cajun craze to tone down the brightness.

I stamped the leaves from the stamp set and coloured them using the new blends coming in the Holiday catalogue, in Cajun Craze and Mango Melody.  I then cut out all them all out.

I cut a piece of the Copper trim and spread it out (watch out, it shrinks!!) and attached it to the left side of the card.

I then placed the coloured leaves on the trim and then tucked the framelit leaves in between.  The sentiment is from the Blended Seasons stamp set and I’ve cut it out using the Stitched labels framelits.  I also sponged around the edge of this too.    I added a bow in Copper trim and all done!

I’m really happy with how this turned out.  You know when you have an idea and it actually works!!  Most of the time, that doesn’t happen!!

The Blended Seasons bundle is only available in the month of August so make sure you grab it soon!

Next up is the lovely Julia.

We hope you can join in with us this week over on at our Facebook group.
