CTC119 – Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

I can’t believe that we are halfway through March already!!  Last year seem to go so slow waiting for my trip to New York and now it’s been nearly 5 months since I returned!

It’s finally starting to get a bit cooler here in Queensland.  Bring on Autumn, I say!!

This week we are casing the final section of the Sale-a-bration catalogue, pages 16-19. But don’t worry, Sale-a-bration isn’t finished yet and neither are we!

This section includes the Hey Chick set and I have to admit this is not my favourite set although all the creations I have seen look amazing.  So far, it is actually the most popular SAB stamp set in all the Stampin’ Up! markets.

I decided to case the chicken card on the right on page 15.

I’m having a market stand on the day before Mother’s Day so I’m planning on making a few Mother’s Day cards for all those last minute shoppers.  I went with Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand as my colours and used the Double Take stamp set for the sentiment.  I kept the same Large Polka Dot embossing folder as the original.

I just love the Make a Medallion SAB stamp set and made my circles.  I am slightly addicted to the layering circle framelits at the moment so this set was perfect for me!  To create the banner, I tried the solid love image in Pink Pirouette but it didn’t stand out very well on the Sahara Sand card stock so I used Rose Red and stamped off first then onto the cardstock which turned out much better.  I then stamped the second thin love without stamping off for a darker colour.

It needed a bit of bling, so I added a few rhinestones to the centre of the medallion.

I was then drawn to the Designer Tee samples on page 18 and decided to case the t-shirt card on the right.

I like the sentiments in the Designer Tee stamp set although I don’t have the matching framelits.  I had a flip through my DSP and decided to use the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP stack.  I’ve been practising my watercolour technique and I seem to be getting the knack of it.  Being patient and just waiting for it to dry before adding more colour helps a lot!!

Once again, the layering circle framelits with their complimentary Stitched shapes framelits make an appearance!  I’m pretty happy with how this card turned out!!
