Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. It’s a wonderful rainy day today, just perfect for crafting!! Who am I kidding, any weather is good for crafting!!
This week, we are casing the Love, Thanks & Support section, pages 72-97 of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
There’s lots of choose from! I didn’t get too far in and went with a card on page 79.
This layout is very easy to duplicate. I decided to use the Bird Ballad DSP instead of a stamped image as the birds on the paper are just too cute. (And I didn’t want to do any fussy cutting either!). I layered the dsp with Pool Party cardstock. I cut a frame using the Layering Squares dies in Daffodil Delight cardstock. I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to lift up the frame.
I cut a strip of vellum cardstock and used the Triple Banner punch to create a banner. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay. The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set, which I discovered has retired after I had written my post!
I added a bow using the Scalloped Lace Trim which is just so pretty.
Next up is the lovely Tina. I can’t wait to see what she has created.
We would love to see your creation from this section. Just add it over on our Facebook page.
What a crazy week it has been weather wise in Australia! From flooding up the top to fires down the bottom and extreme heat in between! I hope you have been able to keep safe.
This week at CTC we are back casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
As you may know, all the items in the Sale-a-bration catalogue are free!! YAY!! You can select from these items when you spend $90 or more in my online store (here) or buy contacting me directly to place your order.
I decided to case the card from page 10 which features the By the Bay stamp set. This type of set is not really my style but I liked the layout of this card with the frames.
I think the stitched rectangle framelits are quickly becoming my favourites! I cut out a frame using the Wood Textures DSP (I’ll be sad when it retires as it’s so handy) and a piece of whisper white. I sponged it with a sponge brayer in Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.
As a cat lover, I wanted to use the new Nine Lives stamp set and the matching Cat punch. And it’s my 18th wedding anniversary today, so it’s the card for my husband. We have two spoilt kitties, Shadow (who is black) and Jaster (my grey boy). I had a few goes at stamping and colouring a black cat but I settled with using the black blends. It’s not just hard to photograph a black cat, but it’s hard to colour one as well!
I stamped the grey kitty in Gray Granite and coloured gently with my aqua painter. I also stamped some blades of grass from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
I then created a little banner for the sentiment which is also from the Nine Lives stamp set.
Next up is fellow kitty lover, Peta.
We would love to see what inspires you from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Share your creations with us at our Facebook group.
If you love the Sale-a-bration goodies, keep your eye out as there are some new products coming out mid February!!

Oh and Happy New Year everyone!! It seems like 2018 went past so fast!! Do I really have to go back to work on Monday?
At least having the 2019 Occasions Catalogue to drool over will make it a bit better. And of course, a new year means that it’s also Sale-a-bration time! Here’s a card that I made using the free Botanical Butterfly DSP.
All I’ve done is cut out the butterflies from the DSP and created the banner for the sentiment using the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. (I actually cased this card from the Stampin’ Success magazine that all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators receive) #demoperks

Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. I am really loving the 2018 Holiday Catalogue. I can’t wait for Christmas!!
This week we are casing the Joyous Noel section, pages 28-35 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.
The Joyous Noel suite is just gorgeous. The DSP is to die for!! However, I’ve decided to case the bauble card on page 34.
I made two cards using this card as inspiration. My first one was a close case, however I have used the Dashing Along DSP instead of an embossed background. I used the Great Joy stamp set which goes perfectly with Stampin’ Blends. I’ve used Smoky Slate, Call Me Clover, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight.
I also put Wink of Stella on the bow but it’s a bit hard to photograph. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set.
This is such a great layout to case. I’ve gone with a non-traditional colour theme of Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.
To create the embossed background, I used the new Big Shot embossing mats. With the mats, you can use a die and instead of cutting, it just embosses the cardstock. Awesome!!
I embossed the baubles from Beautiful Baubles in silver embossing powder and cut out with the largest circle from the Stitched Shape framelits.
Whilst I am a traditional Christmas colour lover, I quite like the combo of Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and silver!
Next up is the lovely Rose.
I hope you can join in with us at our Facebook group!
And in case you were wondering, it’s 39 days until I leave for Orlando!! Oh gee, that’s coming up quickly!!
I’m excited that this week at CTC we are celebrating Christmas in July!! Well kind of!! We are casing the Holidays section, pages 92-103, of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
In preparation of my trip to Orlando (102 days and counting!!) I’ve been watching YouTube videos about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party (and yes I have my ticket booked already!) so I’m feeling a bit Christmassy already.
I decided to case the frame on page 102 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
I wanted to make a card instead of a frame, so I started with an Early Espresso base and did a background with the Under the Mistletoe DSP (which is included in the current Buy 3 get 1 free DSP sale).
I then stamped the tree from Ready for Christmas stamp set on Shaded Spruce cardstock, with Shaded Spruce ink. I then cut them out with the Christmas Staircase thinlits. I used my paper trimmer to score down the middle of each tree. I then laid three over each other and stapled down the middle. I then put a thin layer of glue down the centre and held the final tree until the glue was dry enough. I coloured a few rhinestone with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends and decorated my tree with them.
My very favourite Christmas colour combo is Green and Red and I think Shaded Spruce and Real Red are a perfect combo! I embossed the sentiment in Gold and scored each side of the banner then used the Banner triple punch for the ends.
I used the Tailored Tag punch to cut the base of the tree. And a left over gold star from an old kit for the top of the tree. (There has to be bling on the tree!!)
I hope you are starting to feel Christmassy!
Next up is the lovely Peta. I wonder what Marvi is up to today!
It’s back to normal this week, heading back to work on Monday. I just love it when the alarm clock goes off at 4:15am (NOT!!). Luckily it was a short week with Anzac Day in the middle so it wasn’t too bad.
We are casing our Favourite Project from the 2018 Occasions catalogue today.
There are so many lovely projects, it was hard to choose! I decided to case one of the lovely cards on the cover of the catalogue which featured one of my favourite sets, Cake Soiree.
I decided to keep it pretty similar but I went with the retiring 2016-2018 In-Colours. I used Flirty Flamingo as the base and made the watercolour background on thick whisper white with Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.
It looked like the original used gold foil for the cake stand, so I went a bit fancier and used gold glimmer paper. I then used the rest of the in-colours for the flowers.
I’m so glad that the Cake Soiree stamp set and the matching Sweet Cake Framelits are carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue. If you love them too, make sure you grab them now while they are still listed as a bundle. You’ll save 10%!
Next up is my lovely friend, Julia.
Come and share your Favourite project on our Facebook group. We love seeing what you create!
I’m about to head into a crazy busy period so this will be my last hop for a couple of weeks. I’m getting into cake making and I’m making two cakes next weekend for a 40th/70th birthday party. I’m also volunteering for the Commonwealth Games and have venue training. Then my niece turns 18 (how did that go so quick!!), so another cake for her and a quick visit to Stanthorpe for a party weekend which is also Easter. Then the Games get started! I’m having a week off work after the Games which I think I’ll need for a rest! I’m tired just thinking about it all!
So this week, we are casing the Tutti Frutti section, pages 28-35, of the 2018 Occasions Catalogue.
I love the colouring projects that are in this section and I really love the Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set. I decided to case the card in the centre of page 34.
I didn’t change at lot about this card. I used the Bundle of Love DSP and covered up the gold! I added a vellum layer and stamped my image onto a piece of thick Very Vanilla. I coloured my image with a few Stampin’ Blends.
Don’t forget that there are still a few weeks left of Sale-a-bration, so make sure you check out my online store and order today to earn those freebies.
Next up is my lovely friend, Fi. Can’t wait to see what she has created.
Make sure you join in with the challenge this week and share your project at our Facebook group.
