CTC67 – Birthday Bouquet

ctc_header

Sunday’s nights seem to come around so quickly these days, don’t they!!  Here we are back again with another Caseing the Catty hop.  This week, we are casing the gorgeous Birthday Bouquet section of the 2016 Occasions catalogue.  This section has some of my favourite stamps and dsp in it so it was hard to choose what to make!!

I decided to case the card on the top left of page 8 of the catalogue.

I just love the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  It’s just so pretty!  And the flower just stamps so lovely and is just perfect for colouring.  And it goes perfectly with the Birthday Bouquet DSP which you know I just love too!!

I had a couple of mistakes (sorry, creative moments) when I made this card, so it ended up being square!  But I still like it!!  I like the colours used on the DSP but I decided to try a different colour combo and used Mint Macaron and Delightful Dijon.  I started colouring the darker portion with blender pens and then used the aqua painter for the lighter sections.  I added Gold Wink of Stella in the centre of the larger flower and then as a accent on the smaller flowers.

I always forget to make a envelope when I make a square card so I decided to be organised today and do one and even added a matching liner!!  Am I on fire or what!!  LOL.  And the envelope punch board is on special this week so you need to grab one now!!

Due to my earlier creative moment, I had a base with the cute background paper attached to it, so I decided to cut a flower from the DSP.  Yes, you read that right, I CUT THE DSP!!!! Now fussy cutting is not my favourite thing to do, and I even did the teeny tiny flowers as well.

But I think it was worth cutting out!  It is rather cute.

  1. Rebecca I love your colours, and that you chose a square card for your first one. The matching envelope insert is a lovely extra touch.

  2. Oooh you had me at gold Wink of Stella! The colouring on your bloom is just stunning & I have to say you have now joined the super snipping ranks with Julia with that 2nd card. I do agree though that it was so worth the effort!

  3. As a lover of square cards and lined envelopes your card is pretty amazing. but I have to say that your second card has some epic fussy cutting! Such beautiful DSP isn’t it?
