I hope you have had a great week! It was so warm yesterday when I had my card class. We had to put the air con on! Luckily, it’s a bit nicer today.
This week at Caseing the Catty, we are stepping up projects from the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue. What is stepping up? Well it’s taking a card and stepping it up a notch!! You might have a simple stamping card, and add a few more layers of DSP, or add ribbon. You get the idea!!
I decided to case the ornament card on page 24 which uses the Whimsical Trees stamp set.
I love traditional red/green combo for Christmas so I went with a Cherry Cobbler base. I then stamped the ornaments across the top of a piece of basic white using Memento Black. I then stamped them again on a scrap piece of cardstock and coloured them in using Cherry Cobbler, Mango Melody and Shaded Spruce blends. I then cut all 10,000 of them out! (it felt like that many!!) I then added mini dimensionals and attached them over the stamped ones. I also added Wink of Stella because, well glitter!!
I added a scalloped border of the panel in Shaded Spruce using the Scalloped Contours die. The sentiment is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set.
Here’s a side on look to see the dimension of the ornaments.
I have to admit that I’m starting to get a bit excited about Christmas!! I’m getting new carpet in the main rooms of my house so we are in a bit of chaos at the moment but once the carpet is in and we’ve moved back into those rooms, I can start to think about decorating!! I got a new dresser last year and I’m wanting to create a garland across the top of it. Can’t wait!!!
Next up is the lovely Julia. I can’t wait to see what she has created!
We would love to see your creation so please share over on at our Facebook group.
Happy Stamping!!

Hahaha, I know why you mean about the 10000!! It’s worth it, though, the card looks amazing.
Thank you 😊
It does feel like you are cutting out 10,000 when you are fussy cutting, I know it does for me. The addition of the scalloped edge layer and raised ornaments was a great way to step up the original card.
Lol thank you!
