It’s so fun to play with the colours in our gorgeous Designer Series Papers!! This week, we are casing the colours from the Garden Lane DSP, being Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White. You can also use the layouts from pages 36-38 and 40-41 as inspiration.
When I start with colour challenges, I get out a piece of cardstock in each of the colours and then play around with them to see which combo jumps out at me. What also jumped out of my cardstock was a piece of Mint Macaron embossed with the Tufted embossing folder so that seemed liked a good place to start!!
For my first card, I used Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron. I based my card on the layout from page 36, but it did evolve as I made the card. (I don’t plan out a card before I make it, it just kind of comes together!!)
I was going to add the large flower from the Band Together stamp set, which I embossed in copper on a piece of vellum, then fussy cut out. When I went to assemble the card, it looked better without the flower.
I also cut out a banner from the Detailed Bands die which match the stamp set. I did trim off the tabs at the sides. I also cut out the matching oval and embossed the sentiment in copper.
So I couldn’t waste the flower, so I created another card using a piece of the Garden Lane DSP, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz.
I cut out the sentiment piece from the Detailed Bands die and cut off the side. I just stamped the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz ink. It needed a bow, so I used the Scalloped Lace trim.

Two completely different cards Bec, funny how our ideas evolve as we construct. Love the colour combination of the first card and the placement of the greeting. Copper embossing for the 2nd is always a winner as well.
