Welcome to another fun week of Caseing the Catty! I finally have my new laptop up and working so I can get back into joining into the hops!
This week, we are doing something a little different and casing a technique!! The technique we are looking at is masking. You can use the decorative masks that Stampin’ Up! offer or you can try another way of masking.
I decided to use the Basic Patterns Decorative masks and found a project on page 114 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue however I got side-tracked by another card on the page and used that as my starting point.
I started off by using the dotty masks from the Basic Patterns decorative masks on a piece of Bumblebee cardstock and I used the craft white ink with a sponge dauber. I’ve found it helps to stick down the mask using washi tape so that it doesn’t move too much. I then used the Stitched rectangle dies and cut out the rectangle in the middle and then attached both pieces to the base card.
I cut out a few pieces of the Hey Sports Fan DSP using the Sports Events dies. I stamped a sentiment in Poppy Parade and fiddled around with using one of the dies so that it would fit inside the larger die.
I then attached the die cut pieces on the card and added some of the cute Resin stars.
Next up is fellow Queenslander, Judy.
We would love to see your masking projects so please share over on at our Facebook group.
Happy Stamping!!
Don’t you love when you start casing one card then get sidetracked with another. Love the bright bold colour combination you chose.
Thanks!
Such a fun, sporty card! I’m also taken by the white dots on the Bumblebee cardstock, fabulous idea.
Thanks!
YOur card is a marvellous celebration of colour and fun!! Love the white dots created by the mask – this looks just amazing.
Thank you 😊
