Welcome to another fun week at Casing the Catty. I hope you are managing with all the things going on. I’m working from home and I am getting used to having a sleep in each morning. I’m going to struggle getting up to drive an hour to work especially if it’s in the middle of winter!!

We are back for week 2 of casing the flowers of the Ornate Garden Suite. Now you don’t need to have the suite (although feel welcome to buy it from my store here!!)

I was inspired by a couple of the Ornate Garden images. For my background, I was inspired by the embossed background on the card on the bottom left. I cut out the large flowers from the Flourish dies and glued them to a base piece of So Saffron cardstock. As I got glue on the background, I sponged the whole background. I then embossed it with my favourite subtles embossing folder.

I’m really trying not to use Happy Birthday sentiments as I have so many birthday cards already. So I used the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and once again, my favourite Stitched So Sweetly dies.

I wanted to add some of the star (?) shapes from the dies but it was an outline die, so I glued it to Old Olive cardstock and cut it out by hand. I added a couple of the Gilded Gems for a touch of bling.

I’m quite happy with how this card turned out! I hope you like it too.
