As I type up my post on Saturday, it’s raining!! Lovely, heavy rain filling up my water tanks!! Just the sort of rain we need. And of course, a rainy day makes for the perfect crafting day!
We are casing the Festive Farmhouse section, pages 12-17, of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.
As you may have noticed, I love use Stampin’ Blends! And there are 6 new combo packs in the Holiday Catalogue. And yes, I already have them all!!
I was drawn to the sample on page 15 so that I can use my blends and the Joy & Noel stamp set!
Now don’t you just love the chicken wire elements in the background. Well, I don’t have it yet (but I think I might need to get it soon!) so I decided to use the Subtles Textured embossing folder instead.
I stamped the image twice and cut out one using the largest oval from the Stitched Shape framelits. I then coloured both with the Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Mango Meloday Stampin’ Blends (all are new colours). I then fussy cut out some of the leaves and flowers and popped them up using dimensionals. To make the word a little darker, I coloured with the basic black Stampin’ Blend.
I added Poppy Parade Textured Weave ribbon behind the sentiment oval and popped it up using dimensionals.
Next up is the lovely Julia.
Come and share your project with us over at our Facebook group.

It’s always fun playing with colour at Colour Inkspiration! This week, we are playing with the new Brights collection.
Aren’t they all lovely colours! Now, don’t be like me and grab a colour that used to be in the brights to create your card! At least I’m ahead for the Regals challenge in September!!
So our challenge this week is to create a card using 3 of these gorgeous colours. You can add any of the basics as well. Oh and bling, if you want it.
I have been loving all the samples I’ve seen of the Postcard Pals set. I don’t normally go for such a detailed stamp but I just love those cute animals!
Now I did introduce a couple of neutrals to colour in the squirrel (whose name is George, btw) but I think you’ll forgive me. The base of the card is Coastal Cabana. The next layer is Daffodil Delight which I’ve embossed using the Subtle embossing folder. I just love the gentle distressed look of this folder.
George is coloured with lots of Stampin blends. For his body, I’ve used Crumb Cake, with Ivory for his cheeks. His shirt is Bermuda Bay and the letter box is Soft Suede with a touch of Poppy Parade for the flower. Then a little bit of Granny Apple Green for the grass.
I created a frame in Bermuda Bay using my favourite Stitched Shape framelits and the layering square framelits. The sentiment is from the Postcard Pals set as well.
Isn’t George cute!!
Next up is Nikki, I can’t wait to see what she has created.
