CTC266 – Week 1 – Easter sketch

Well hasn’t it been an interesting week!! Many of us are now either at home without work, managing with home schooling, working from home or heading off to work as an essential worker. I am starting to work from home as of Monday. I may not have mentioned before but I am a Compliance Officer for Department of Justice and Attorney General and as such am considered an essential worker. At this stage, I’m doing work from home but may be required to work for other departments as the need arises.

So whilst I am home, I can’t really get stuck into my craft room!! I can look in the door and dream about what to do when the work day finishes! My kitties will be happy boys, having Mum and Dad at home all the time.

Now it seems like Easter is a long way off, but it’s only 2 weeks away. And I think we need to be sending cards now more than ever so we have a Easter sketch challenge this week.

I wanted to use products from the Annual Catalogue as we have lots of gorgeous products in all those pages and I tend to get carried away with the mini catalogues and neglect the big catty! So I have the Fable Friends stamp set which has such cute images. I then had a look through the Annual Catty DSP and rediscovered the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP. One of the sheets of this paper includes designs which you can cut out. As our sketch includes an oval, I went with the pretty dried flower oval and stamped the squirrel image in the middle in Memento Black.

I then coloured the squirrel using markers (remember them!!) in the colours that matched the flowers. To recreate the rectangle panel, I used some vanilla twine and wrapped it around a couple of times and tied a small bow. Of course, I had to use the Stitched So Sweetly dies and stamped the Easter sentiment in Rococo Rose.

Hasn’t it come out sweet? Don’t forget those pretty annual catalogue products!!

Next up is the lovely Tina.

We would love to see your creations using our sketch over on at our Facebook group.

Happy stamping and wash your hands!

  1. Oh wow, the little guy in the floral wreath is just perfect! What a great interpretation of the sketch. I love this.
