I’ve had a lovely week of holidays but sadly I’m back at work tomorrow. But counting down to the next lot of holidays in only 5 weeks!!
This week at Caseing the Catty, we are casing Gift Packaging from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.
I didn’t actually go too far to be inspired. Just as far as the cover of the 2017 Holiday catalogue, in fact!
I liked the acetate box on the right hand side of the cover, featuring the Cheery Chirps stamp set.
Once I started making this and taking a closer look at the project, I realised how much detail is on it.
I wanted to use my new Stampin’ Blends to colour the images, so I went with the colours that are available in the pens like Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.
So firstly, I cut out a piece of Old Olive cardstock to fit the front of the box and embossed it with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder.
The leaves around the bird are actually taken from the other bird stamp in the set. I stamped it in Memento Black and coloured with the Old Olive Stampin’ blends and fussy cut out.
I cut out a circle from the Stitched Shapes framelits and stamped and coloured the bird. I then used the fine tip glue pen to attach the leaves to the circle. I used a piece of a doily behind the circle.
Then there’s a Pool Party Everyday Label punch behind the circle.
So then I cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler and trimmed the corners to create a tag. I cut a Silver foil snowflake in half and attached behind the tag. I then attached the whole lot to the embossed Old Olive piece.
I added a silver tinsel bow for a bit of bling.
This looks much nicer in person!
Next up we have the lovely Angela.

Happy Stamping
