I love all things 3d really but especially boxes, so I was excited to see that this week’s Case-ing the Catty challenge was the Gift Packaging section of the catalogue. There are lots of great packaging options in the catalogue from bags, boxes and more.
I decided to make 2 projects this week. For my first project, I thought I would case the box on page 65 of the catalogue. (It has a silver doily on it, so I was sold!!)
But I decided to not make a box, but try a bag made with the new Gift Bag punch board. I decided to add a flap to the top of the bag so that it would have a closure and the tag could be attached to it.
I reversed the colours used from the sample and went with a piece of dotty Melon Mambo from the Brights Collection DSP stack. I hope you like my gift bag!
Here’s a close up of the flap.
For my second project, I wanted to try the hamburger box on page 61. Only one problem, I don’t have the Hamburger box die. So I got out my trusty gift box punch board and a piece of the Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP and 60 seconds later, voila, I had a box!!
To make the flower, I used a piece of whisper white envelope paper. It’s a lighter paper which made it easier to work with. I cut out a number of petals from the Bouquet Bigz L die, and curved them slightly with my bone folder. I then stuck the petals together with glue dots. You can use either tombow glue or hot glue but I didn’t want to make a big mess and I was in a hurry to get it done! I also cut the black flower centre from the die. I attempted to make the yellow flower centre but as you can see, there’s a pearl in the middle. Less said about that, the better!!
Now I have to mention, I had a bit of trouble getting a good photo of the box, so please excuse my photos!!
Here’s one looking down through the top of my light box.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today. The next stop on the CTC hop is Monique. I’m sure she has a fabulous project for you!!
If you happen to get lost on the hop, just click here to go to the Case-ing the Catty blog and you will find all the links there.
I’d love if you could leave me a comment.
Happy Stamping

wow oh wow, love these 2 projects so beautiful and colourful.
2 gorgeous projects Rebecca. Love the colour combo of your gift bag and the flower on the box is stunning – reminds me of a magnolia.
…whoops…I meant Gift BAG punch board bag. 🙂
These are both so beautiful!! So clever of you to add the closure flap to the Gift Box Punch Board bag…I am hopeless with 3D designs. Both of your projects are so lovely!
You have made some really great projects, Rebecca. The green box with its lovely big flower is a stunner and I love the flap on the other one.
