CTC191 – Nature’s Poem

ctc_header

It is so windy at my place today!!  Wait, is the Ekka on?  You bet it is!!  It’s always windy when the Ekka is happening in Brisbane.  My kitty cats have a bad case of static from the wind.

We are casing the Nature’s Poem section, pages 142 – 153 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.

As I flipped through this section, I realised that I only have two stamp sets in this entire section!  Now don’t hate me, but I’m actually not a fan of tree stamps!  I don’t own Lovely as a Tree and I don’t intend to buy it (cos if I did, that would be the year it retires, lol!!)

For my card this week, I am casing the leaf card on page 144.

I was inspired by the leaves to use the Blended Seasons stamp set and framelits.  I started with Cajun Craze (yes, one of my least used colours!) and the Nature’s Poem DSP.  I then cut out a couple of leaves using the framelits in Cajun Craze and Mango Melody.  I then sponged the mango ones with Cajun craze to tone down the brightness.

I stamped the leaves from the stamp set and coloured them using the new blends coming in the Holiday catalogue, in Cajun Craze and Mango Melody.  I then cut out all them all out.

I cut a piece of the Copper trim and spread it out (watch out, it shrinks!!) and attached it to the left side of the card.

I then placed the coloured leaves on the trim and then tucked the framelit leaves in between.  The sentiment is from the Blended Seasons stamp set and I’ve cut it out using the Stitched labels framelits.  I also sponged around the edge of this too.    I added a bow in Copper trim and all done!

I’m really happy with how this turned out.  You know when you have an idea and it actually works!!  Most of the time, that doesn’t happen!!

The Blended Seasons bundle is only available in the month of August so make sure you grab it soon!

Next up is the lovely Julia.

  1. Love your card Bec, I looked at the same layout to CASE but you have really showcased how to get a completely different look. I love the brightness Mango gives to this combination ( I rarely use Cajun either!)

  2. Wow wow wow. This is amazing. The colours are so vibrant and dynamic. I love these leaves done in this way. Brilliant case.
