CTC139 – Everyday Occasions

I had a fun day yesterday at the V8 Supercars at the Ipswich SuperSprint with my Dad.  I gave him tickets for his 70th birthday in May!  We had a fab day even though we melted in the afternoon.

So this week, we are back casing the Everyday Occasions section, pages 16-67 of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.

There are so many gorgeous cards in this section.  I decided to case the card on the right on page 24 using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  Isn’t this set just lovely?  I don’t use it often enough.

I didn’t actually change a lot on this card.  I used the gold side of the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.  I made the centre piece a little smaller so that you could see more of the gorgeous paper.

I used a piece of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock and gently water coloured with Sweet Sugarplum ink.  You can use other cardstock other than watercolour paper to do watercolouring but you can’t make it too wet or it will start to pill.  I then inked up my flower in versamark ink and then the Sweet Sugarplum ink, then stamped and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I cut out the flower in Very Vanilla from the Flourish Thinlit dies and glued it on using the fine tip glue pen.    As the DSP uses gold foil, I decided to go with a gold foil banner at the bottom rather than a glitter one like the sample.  I then cut out a small gold foil flower and added a gold faceted gem on the top.

I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum and voila, a gorgeous card is done!

Next up is the fabulous Krissy.

  2. Your card is so so beautiful. I think it’s a great idea to show off this gorgeous DSP by making the central panel smaller. Love all the gold details on the flower too.
