At CASEing the Catty this week, we are casing the Project Life section of the catalogue.
If you haven’t heard of Project Life before, it is a simple system for organising your photos into an album. All you need to start is an album in the size and design you like, photo pocket pages, a card collection and a pen! You can also embellish your pages with an accessory pack and it wouldn’t be Stampin’ Up! without a matching stamp set!!
I have decided to do a December Daily album for Christmas this year. I did it last year and it was great fun taking photos and getting them into an album. It does take some planning, especially if you want to make sure you take a photo a day but worth it in the end.
There are two lovely card collections and matching accessory packs in the 2015 Holiday catalogue, Hello December 2015 and Seasonal Snapshot 2015. I’ve purchased the Hello December collection, accessory pack and the Project Life Hello December 2015 stamp set as I wanted to do an album solely dedicated to Christmas. By the way, you can purchase all three items in a bundle and save 15%.
This week, I’m not actually caseing a project from the catalogue. Obviously it’s not Christmas yet and I don’t have any photos to put in a layout, so I’ve decided to show you how I have decorated the front of the Kraft 6″ x 8″ Project Life Album.
I started off by using the Craft Whisper White ink pad around the edges to make a snowy look. I then stamped a few of the snowflakes from the Project Life Hello December 2015 stamp sets around.
I then decided to use one of the the 4 specialty gold glitter cards which comes in the accessory pack as my title. Isn’t it lovely!! It’s very sparkly in real life. I used a sheet of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and I “tore” it!!! Scary, I know!! I then literally dropped the sequins (also from the accessory pack) and attached them with a glue dot where they landed. I also added a couple of stars.
I’m quite happy with the result and can’t wait to see what how it ends up this year. I’ll keep you posted!!
To continue hopping, have a look at the lovely project Julia has made.
Please leave me comment and let me know what you think!! And if you want to start a December Daily album, you can purchase all the bits and pieces by clicking on the images below.
