CTC451 – Case the 2024 January – April Mini Catalogue

Welcome to our first hop of 2024! Can you believe that it’s January! I’m sure this year is going to fly past as well.

We had an eventful end to 2023 and we got caught up in the storms in Queensland that hit on Christmas night. Whilst we had no damage to our home (fortunately!), we did lose 10 trees in our yard. One hit our fence between our neighbours and another very large tree hit our water tank and damaged our water pump and part of the gutter on the shed. As we are on tank water, it’s very important to have a working pump! Oh and did I mention that we lost power for 6 days. Fortunately we have a large diesel generator that is hard-wired into the house, so we were able to use that through out the day. We don’t run it all the time as it is very noisy but it was enough to keep our fridges cold and have running water. We worked hard to clear the smaller trees but the big ones will hopefully be covered by insurance.

Now onto the fun stuff of crafting! As you may know, the January – April 2023 Mini Catalogue started on 4 January 2024. There are so many lots of gorgeous new goodies in this catalogue! So of course, our first hop of the year is to case the Mini Catalogue.

I haven’t purchased many new goodies from the catalogue so I cased a card from page 12 which uses the Heartfelt Hexagon bundle. It’s the card on the right of the image below.

I have come to realise that my favourite colour is blue so I had a look through my DSP and found that the Bright & Beautiful DSP had a nice piece of blue variegated print so I used that as the background.

I then die cut 2 scalloped rectangles from the Scalloped Contours dies and ran one through the new Layered Florals 3d embossing folder and trimmed the edges. I then punched out a hexagon using the Heartfelt Hexagon punch on the embossed piece and added a window sheet behind it and use the foam adhesive strips around the cut out. For the background of the window, I stamped in Blueberry Bushel some of the flowers from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and added in some sequins I had on my desk for some bling! I then added a ribbon using the Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon.

The sentiment is also stamped in Blueberry Bushel and punched out.

I hope you like my card! Next up is the lovely Michelle.

We would love to see your creations, so please share over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping!!
