CTC394 – Casing a favourite stamp set

I hope you have had a great week! I’ve been quite busy!! I put my Christmas tree and decorations up this week and got the finishing touches done yesterday. I also went to see Mary Poppins today at QPAC and it was a fabulous show! I recommend you see it if you get the chance.

This week, we are casing our favourite stamp set from either the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue or the July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Well, choosing a favourite stamp set is like trying to choose a favourite kitty cat!! I decided to go through the Annual Catalogue and see what cards inspired me. I got to page 44 and there was the Christmas Season stamp set. I love this set and how versatile it is. It is perfect for creating stunning backgrounds and is a great supplement to many different sentiment sets. I was inspired to case the card at the bottom of this image from page 44.

When I looked closely at the card, there are so many details. I used a piece of Abigail Rose DSP for the background and then die cut the pinecones on a piece of watercolour paper using the Christmas Pinecone dies.

I was going to watercolour the background, but I wasn’t in the mood for making a big mess, so I coloured it using Old Olive blends for the greenery and Crumb Cake for the pinecones. I coloured the different pieces with the lighter blend and then brushed the darker one over the piece so that it was random (ish). I then stamped the holly in Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake and the leaves in Old Olive and die cut using the Seasonal Labels dies. The sentiment is from the Framed & Festive stamp set which is available from now until supplies last and is on a label from the same dies. I layered up the tag with the Natural Finish ribbon and attached to the card.

I’m quite happy with how this turned out! What do you think?

Next up is the lovely Michelle.

We would love to see your creation so please share over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping!!
