CTC365 – Favourite retiring DSP

Happy Easter, everyone!! I hope you are having a lovely long weekend. My husband is working most of the weekend, so I’m having a great crafty weekend on my own! I did have my card class yesterday (which was his only day off, sorry dear!!) and we had a fabulous time as always.

This week, we are casing our favourite retiring Designer Series Paper (DSP). Now that’s kinda of like choosing your favourite kitty cat (or child), so I went with 2 gorgeous papers.

So I started off by flipping through the catalogue to look for cards that featured designer series paper. I didn’t get very far and decided to case the card on the top right hand side of the back of the front cover of the catalogue.

This is a great layout that you could do so many cards with and show off all the gorgeous papers in the catalogue. For my first card, I used the Pansy Petals DSP and cut it into 1 1/4″ strips. The background cardstock is Blackberry Bliss. I used the Ornate Layers dies to cut out a rectangle and the banner. The sentiment is from Dahlia Days.

For my second card, I had to use the Expressions in Ink DSP. Now this paper is just stunning with the flecks of gold throughout. I did a basic black base and cut out 3 strips of the Just Jade DSP. I then cut out in gold foil, the floral die from the Artistic Dies. I then stamped the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set on Just Jade cardstock in Memento Black.

Next up is the lovely Sandra.

We would love to see what you create to showcase your favourite designer series papers so please share over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping!!
