CTC273 – Playing with Patterns Colours

Welcome back for the second time tonight!! I’m back with Caseing the Catty as always at 7pm!! We are casing the colours of the Playing with Patterns DSP. There are a lot of colours in this fun pack of paper – Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Purple Posy and Whisper White.

So after I realised that I had created a card using the wrong dsp, I whipped up another one in the same layout in the right colours!!

I’ve used the Peony dies and created 2 flowers in Calypso Coral. Now these flowers are a little difficult to put together but once you know how, it’s easy!! Here’s an picture to show how.

So there are 4 pieces of the flower. On the top left image, you tuck the smallest piece into the next sized piece. Then turn it over (see the bottom left image) and make sure the 2 edges line up. Then glue together. Repeat for the next two layers, tucking into the slot and lining up the back. I hope that helps!!

Onto my card, I’ve used a piece of the Play with Patterns DSP for the background. I cut a strip of whisper white and cut the edges using the Stitched Nested dies. The sentiment is in Calypso Coral and is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. I also stamped a couple of leaves in Coastal Cabana from the Prized Peony stamp set and cut out using the Peony dies.

So in case you were wondering, here’s my other card, using the colours of the Artistry Blooms DSP.

I used the Artistry Blooms DSP for the background and I also embossed it using the Subtles embossing folder for a bit more texture.

Next up is the lovely Peta.

We would love to see your creations using this colour combo so please share over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping

  1. Wow, these flowers are amazingly dimensional. Really helps to see them put together step by step – thank you so much for sharing that. They are both really pretty cards but I particularly like the background colours and texture of the second card. 🙂 Siobhan.

  2. Great cards, I love them both (even if one isn’t street legal for this week 🤣). The 3D peony is such a stand out, imagine receiving such a beautiful card – the recipient would be blown away!
