I’ve been having a great weekend, playing with my new goodies! I’ve finally caught up and even cleaned my craft desk! Did you know that it’s actually white underneath everything! lol
This week at Caseing the Catty, we are caseing the Birthday section, pages 66-79 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
As always, there are so many lovely cards to choose from. I decided to case the ice cream card on page 70, as I love the Birthday Posies stamp set and I haven’t played with it yet.
Whilst I do have the Delightfully Detailed Specialty Paper which has been used on the background, I used the new tufted embossing folder. Whenever I emboss, it always give me a little thrill and this folder does not disappoint!!
I actually started this card by stamping the floral ice-cream and colouring with my new Stampin’ Blends. I got all the of the new colours in my order this week, and I’m so excited to use them. I watched a great video about the blends by Patty Bennett (click here to check it out) and she talked about mixing and matching the colours, like using different colours to blend together. I’ve never thought about that before, and I really like the freedom it gives you to create different combinations!
I love that there are more options in the blends for green. We now have Granny Apple Green, Call Me Clover and even Soft Sea Foam. I used Granny Apple Green and then Pineapple Punch for a touch of yellow. I’ve put all my blends into Rainbow order (shock, horror!!) to make it easier to find the right colour. I grabbed out the pinks, Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick and Calypso Coral and coloured all the flowers.
To colour the ice-cream, I used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink and Ivory. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! Then I stamped the Birthday banner in Flirty Flamingo and cut it out. A bow in Shaded Spruce from the metallic ribbon combo pack and all done!
Next up is the lovely Julia.
