CTC46 – Do you want to Make a Difference?

At Caseing the Catty, we have made it to the very last page of the catalogue!! This week, we are caseing the Make a Difference section of the catalogue which features the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

$3 from the purchase of this cute set goes to Ronald McDonald House Charities to keep families together and surrounded by love when their children are receiving medical treatment far from home. What a great cause!! If you don’t have this set already, you need to get it today!!

There are 4 cute cards featuring this set. I decided to make the tag and turn it into a card.

Since we no longer have the Colour Coach to suggest colour combinations, I have been using My CreateInk, to help me out. All you have to do is pick a colour or two and it will bring up lots of different suggestions.

I decided to use a sheet from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper stack and that started off my colour combo with Crushed Curry. My CreateInk then suggested Smoky Slate, Night of Navy and Soft Sky.

I found that I had some crushed curry baker’s twine so I tied a cute bow and added it to the top of the tag. Don’t you just love that you can make your own tags with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch!

I stamped the bottom of the basket, flowers and sentiment with the new Basic Gray Archival ink pad and stamped off as I wanted a slightly lighter gray. I then dug out my blender pens (which I seem to be using a lot these days!!) and coloured in the basket and the flowers. I’m very happy with how my basket turned out. Who knew I was arty like that!! Not me!!

In keep with the original tag, I punched out a vellum circle and also curved the birthday sentiment strip. I cheated with the banner at the end and used my triple banner punch to make a nice even banner. Really, I can’t even do little ones even!!

After a brainstorming session with one of my stamping buddies, we decided on the placement of the flower. Who knew it was such a decision!!

Here’s a close up of the flower basket.

I hope you like my card and are inspired to buy the Sprinkles of Life stamp set to help support Ronald McDonald House Charities. Oh and I forgot to mention, but there is a fabulous matching punch, of course!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List

Good things come in small envelopes

I had my new catalogue launch last Saturday!! The ladies and I had a great time of playing with new products, seeing lots of new samples and playing a few games as well.

Here I am, waiting for everyone to arrive!

Here I am, waiting for everyone to arrive!

I decided to do small 3″ x 3″ cards in the new in-colours with a matching envelope using the new in-colour envelope paper for the make and takes.

For each card, I wanted to highlight a new stamp set or product.

So for Delight Dijon, I used the You’re so sweet stamp set and the eye catching Bohemian DSP. We used my favourite marker to stamp technique using Delightful Dijon, Island Indigo and Blackberry Bliss markers and cut it out with the banner framelit from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.

The You’ve got this stamp set is a really versatile set. It has a great background stamp, a gorgeous flower and sentiments as well. For our second card, we stamped the background in Watermelon Wonder and then the flower in black. Then a piece of whisper white cotton ribbon around the card and a bow to top it off.

Now Mum loves this next in-colour almost as much as she loves crumb cake!! On our Tip Top Taupe sample, we used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and cut out the basket by hand. We then stamped the flower stems in Cucumber Crush and the flowers in Delightful Dijon. Isn’t this one cute!!

I love the fact that the small DSP stacks are now coming in 6″x6″ size. One this card, I used the Cherry on Top DSP stack. We stamped the sentiment from the Build a Birthday stamp set in Cucumber Crush and then punched the end of the banner using the new banner triple punch. I lurve this new punch!! I can’t cut an even banner with scissors to save myself, so I think this punch was made just for me! We also added a little bit of twine.

On our last card, we used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set again. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! will be donating $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for Sprinkles of Life stamp set sold? So you really need to get this set!! We hand cut the ice-cream cone and then used the co-ordinating Tree builder punch to cut out the ice-cream. We stamped in Melon Mambo and added a touch of dazzling diamonds.

I made all the envelope beforehand using the envelope punch board. They were so easy to whip up!! and don’t they look cute!!
