CTC87 – Artistic Expressions

This week, we are casing the Artistic Expressions section of the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue, pages 92-157.

This is a huge section of the catalogue and it was so hard to decide what to case!!  I had a couple of options but decided to go with the Blooms & Wishes samples on page 138.

I cased two of these gorgeous cards.  I changed the colour palette for my first card but still stayed within the colours of the DSP.  I also used the scallop oval to cut out my centre piece.  I just love these scallops!!  To make sure my sentiment was centred on the card, I cheated and stamped it onto a separate piece of cardstock then attached that to the whisper white layer.  The sheer linen ribbon in Mint Macaron is simply devine!

For my second card, I did a direct case.  I did use the retired doilies as I keep forgetting to add the new ones to my order.  I think I need to practice stamping circles with straight stamps, but you get the idea!!

I hop you have enjoyed my cards this week.  Next stop on the hop is fellow Queenslander, Deb.

  1. Love both your cards, Rebecca. The scallop cut out and ribbon trim looks great. Just ordered this set, so thanks for the inspiration 🙂

  2. Both cards are gorgeous, Rebecca. Thanks for showcasing a section that I have neglected to take notice of (until now) 🙂

  3. Two beautiful cards Rebecca! How did you recreate the ruffled mint ribbon (a stitch through the centre or glue? I think your circle using straight stamps is pretty spot-on, good job!!

  4. Oh, such a gorgeous colour pallette Bec and lovely CASEd versions of the originals. Plus, thanks for the tip on getting the sentiment straight – it’s always so simple when you know how!!! Kelly x

  5. These are so pretty Rebecca. I too have CASED these cards & yes the wreath is a hard one. Your 1st card in sweet sugarplum is lovely. I love that mint macaron ribbon too!
