It’s time for a change

From Christmas cards, that is!!!!

I have been making lots of Christmassy things for ages and I am slightly over it!! I have a dear friend having a birthday this week, so I wanted to make a special card for her. I have to say I really enjoyed making something else!!

I wanted to use the Corner Garden stamp set and my blendabilities. Honestly, it’s been ages since I used them!!

So a quick search on Pinterest found this lovely card by It’s a Stamp Thing. I love the way she uses only a portion of the stamp.

As my friend loves anything purple, I had to use Blackberry Bliss. This is such a gorgeous deep purple. The photos definitely don’t do it justice. I embossed the crumb cake cardstock with white embossing powder. This looked lovely all on it’s own. I will have to try it with coloured cardstock as well. I then coloured it with Old Olive for the leaves, and then Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Night of Navy.

l bday

I hope she likes it!!

Happy Stamping

Stampin’ Up! products used:
Stamps: Corner Garden, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Ink: Versamark, Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Old Olive Blendabilities, Calypso Coral Blendabilities, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities and Night of Navy Blendabilities, Word Window punch.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s a peacock.

I’ve been having a play with my new Blendabilities and the new stamps I got in my latest order. I love the Perfect Peacock stamp. I saw a lovely card done at Convention and I couldn’t wait to receive my own so I could have a play. It didn’t take as long as I expected to colour in. I think it took longer to unthread the sequins and stick them on!! peacock I also wanted to try it using Dazzling Diamonds. So I stamped it in Versamark, then used some heat and stick powder and dunked a whole tub of Dazzling Diamonds onto it!! Did you know that glitter goes a looooong way. I think I’m still wearing it!!! The photo doesn’t really do it justice but the glitter seems to have hints of bermuda bay and blackberry bliss so I teamed them together. glitter peacock I’d love to hear what you think!!! Happy Stamping Rebecca

30 September 2009

I just love having a day off during the week.  Went to the movies last night with a dear friend and saw a great chick flick!!!  Had dinner out with hubby and friends and then got to have a sleep in today!!  Woohoo!!!

After a busy morning (washing red dirt off the car whilst being watched by two kangaroos, doing a spot of poisoning weeds and a load or two of washing), Super mum brought Nanny and Grandad over for a visit.  It was their first visit to my home as they have been unwell so it was nice to show them around.  Now I’ve had a guilt free session of card making, so here is a card that I have made using a template by Lynda Lindley from Pagemaps.
