Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. I seem to have a million things to get done before Christmas and not enough time to do it!! Work just gets in the way, how rude!!
I’ve been preparing for my Christmas Class next weekend but I managed to squeeze in a card for CTC. Our challenge this week is to Case Anything but a Card from either catalogue. I decided to case the candle cover on page 28 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue which is part of the Joyous Noel suite.
I love the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP, although when I went to select my cardstock, I haven’t used much of it!! I decided to use one of the dsp as the background and the Tranquil Tide and Copper paper for the wreath. I drew a circle lightly on the dsp (I used one of my pots of embossing paste) to give me a guide for attaching the sprigs. Otherwise you know it’s going to be a weird shaped circle!!
I punched out lots of sprigs using the Sprig punch and started attaching them using glue dots. I would recommend attaching in an anti-clock wise direction otherwise the sprigs don’t spring! I cut out the Merry from the Merry Christmas Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler and painted it with Wink of Stella. (I was going to use the Copper shimmer paint but apparently I forgot to buy it on my last order!)
I also stamped the sentiment from the Merry Christmas to All set and cut it out using a banner from the retired Large Numbers framelits. The gorgeous bow is made using the Merry Merlot and Copper reversible ribbon.
When it came to assembly of the wreath, you need a lot more sprigs that you think you will!!
I’m really happy with how this card turned out. Let’s see what Peta has created for us and if Marvi has been a good boy this week!!
Come and share your project with us at our Facebook group.
