I can’t believe that we are in November and on the count down to Christmas. This year is just flying past so quickly!! It will be my birthday soon!! (eeek!!)
This week, I am focusing on the Cozy Christmas stamp set. I love this set and I think it’s perfect for colouring with markers. It also does very nicely with my favourite Christmas DSP, Home for Christmas!!
For my first card, I chose the Christmas Wishes set, then had a look at which piece of the DSP I could use. I decided to go with the snowy houses. Even though we don’t have snow in Australia at Christmas, I still like to see snowy Christmas things!! I based my colour choices on the colours of the DSP, Real Red, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow. Did you know that the co-ordinating colours are all listed on the back of the packet the DSP comes in? Very helpful, indeed!
As I said, I think these stamps just lend themselves to colouring with markers. It’s a technique that always makes me happy when I do it. My go-to framelits at the moment seem to be Lots of Labels and I have created a layer with Mossy Meadow by cutting a label in half. And of course, you can’t go past the gorgeous Snowflake Elements and an Iced Rhinestone!!
For my second card, I decided to use the bauble piece of the Home for Christmas DSP. Whilst Pacific Point isn’t really a Christmas colour, it makes a good accent layer and makes the baubles really stand out.
I got a bit excited with layering my card!! Mossy Meadow base, then Pacific Point, Gold Foil, Real Red and then the DSP!! Phew!! As this DSP is quite a stand out on it’s own, I matted the sentiment piece on Gold Foil and added a simple gold thread bow.
I wonder who will be getting these for Christmas? I hope they like it!
