CI07 – Flowers

I’ve had a busy weekend in Sydney at the Stampin’ Up! Onstage event.  It was great to catch up with some of the girls from the Colour Inkspiration Crew and get to meet up in person!

Our challenge this week is so pretty!!  Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight!!

I wanted to go floral for this challenge.  So I grabbed out one of my favourite floral sets, Flower Patch and the matching framelits, Floral Fair. As I was flipping through my framelits, I went past the Rose Garden thinlits, which helped me choose my sentiment piece.

For a bit of background texture, I used the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I also put some Wink of Stella on the flowers but it doesn’t photograph very well.

I hope you have enjoyed my card tonight!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Nicole.

CTC75 – Mother’s Day

ctc_header

Well, we are back to normal after the excitement of Onstage last week.  It is so lovely to be able to spend time with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators including my amazing team and to be inspired by gorgeous samples and of course, new catalogues!!  We were fortunate enough to receive the new 2016-2017 Annual catalogue and you are in for a treat!!  So many gorgeous new products and stamps to play with.  And of course, lots of new samples for us to case!!

I also got to catch up with some of the CTC crew which was just lovely.

This week, we are casing Mother’s Day from either the 2015-2016 Annual catalogue or the Occasion catalogue.

I decided to go back to the Annual catalogue and I found a lovely card on page 77 which features the Flower Patch stamp set and matching framelits.

I changed a few things but basically kept it the same.  I decided to mat the embossed piece as it was easier to emboss that way.  I also changed the colours as well to make it more feminine.  For the sentiment, I used my favourite Circle of Spring stamp set.  I actually used this card in my stamp club this weekend, and the Circle of Spring set has lots of alternate sentiments for those who didn’t want to make a Mother’s Day card.

I love both of these stamp sets and I’m so glad they are carrying through!!

Make sure you join in with our challenges.  We do a monthly challenge and you are welcome to join in with us any time throughout the month.  Click on the image below to go to the linkup.

Stampin’ Up! Product List

An old favourite

Sometimes, in the excitement of new catalogues and products, I tend to forget about my old favourites. One of my first loves after getting the Big Shot was the Top Note die. If it ever retires, I will be devastated!!

I had a workshop last weekend, and I decided to dig out my Top note die once again. I love to make different styles of cards and I chose to do an easel card using the Top note die.

I also used the Colour coach to help select a colour combo using the 2013-2015 in colours. I went with Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe and I added in a little So Saffron as well.

I used a newer stamp set, Flower Patch with the co-ordinating framelits, Flower Fair so we didn’t have to do any messy cutting (not my favourite thing to do!!)

Here’s a view of the Easel.

top note

To create the easel, you need to fold the cardstock in half and score it. Place the cardstock on the die with the fold inside the cutting line of the die. You will need to cut a separate single top note as well. Score the folded piece in the middle of the shape on one side only. Then stick the single top note to the folded half. Then decorate to your heart content!! You will need to place a piece on the bottom half so that the easel has something to sit on.

And I should mention, the girls loved it!!

If you would like to make this at a workshop, I would love to show you!! Please contact me at stampinwithrebecca@yahoo.com.au or 0408 193 792.

Happy Birthday to my Stampin’ bestie!!

One of the best things that has happened since I became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, is the friendships that I have made. I’ve met lots of my crazy team members at convention over the years and when I met Miss Jess, we just clicked. Even though she lives in Melbourne, and I in Queensland, we chat regularly (ok, daily!!) on Facebook sharing ideas and projects that we have made.

Here we are at convention this year, with a couple of my other Stampin’ besties, Emma and Shannon from the Home Office. (Of course, Shannon is my bestie (lol!!)

My fabulous friend had a birthday this weekend just gone, so I had to make a special card for her.

I wanted to use the new Striped Scallop thinlit which I had just purchased as I am loving what I’ve seen on Pinterest made with it. But I didn’t case this time!!

So when I cut out the scallop, I found that I needed an extra piece of shim to go through the big shot as it didn’t quite cut it all the first time through. Could also be my cutting plates as they are starting to get a bit curved from lots of use!!. But I still could use what was left and decided to cut it half way. As Jess is a bit of a sparkly queen, I knew that I had to make a blingy card!! I embossed the sentiment from Flower Patch in gold embossing powder and added a bit of sequins to the flowers.

I hope she likes it!!

Flowers that Bloom

I don’t know about you but one of my favourite new stamp sets and matching framelits is the Flower Patch stamp set and the co-ordinating framelists Flower Fair.

There have been lots of gorgeous cards on Pinterest lately showcasing this set. I found this one here, which I decided to use as a card at my July Stamp Club.

I love the fact that you can stamp the leaves on a light colour and then stamp the petals in a darker colour and be able to see through the polymer stamp so that you can line it up.

I found that the smaller flower done in Lost Lagoon doesn’t come as a framelit, so we still had to do a little cutting out. But it looks cute, so it’s worth it, right??

I love that this card also showcases some of the new in-colours, Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon. I think these 3 are quickly becoming my favourite colours!!
