CTC163 – Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

Happy Australia Day!!  Hope you had a lovely day on January 26, celebrating all things Aussie!!  Australia Day is actually my birthday, so we always do something!  This year, we had a nice day pottering around home, and then out to dinner and ice cream with friends.

This week, we are casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  You can choose any of the wonderful projects to case.

I decided to case one of the cards on the cover of the catalogue, the Calypso Coral Amazing You card on the right.

I pretty much cased it as is but I changed the colours.  I used the Fresh Florals DSP paper stack and the Powder Pink print.  There’s a lot of subtle details on this card, from the flowers stamped on the background, the silver embossed star burst, the embossed flowers and gentle colouring of the flowers. Then there’s the vellum banner, the twine across the back and the gorgeous amazing you thinlit cut out.  Oh and of course a few rhinestones!!

I’ve been trying to do more simpler cards this year, but I really think my heart lies with the detailed ones!!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Monique.

CTC154 – Case a Colouring Project

It’s been an exciting, but full-on weekend!!  I’ve been to the Onstage Local event in Melbourne with my fellow demonstrators!  Onstage is held every 6 months with an Onstage Live event for 3 days (which is in Utah this time), and local events held throughout the world on the same weekend.  Oh and it’s only for demonstrators, so if you want to come in April 2018, you’ll need to join up and become a demo!!

I also had the privilege of being asked to do a presentation of a bundle of products that are coming out for the 2018 Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues.  You’ll have to wait until Tuesday to check them out!!

So this week, we are casing a Colouring Project from either the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue or the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.  I decided to go with the Annual Catalogue since it’s been a while that I had a look through it.

With the arrival of the Stampin’ Blends, I also purchased a few of the colouring stamp sets.  I decided this week to case the Hey You card, on the left on page 169 but I decided to use the other stamp in the set, the Good Vibes stamp.

I stamped firstly on Whisper White thick A4 cardstock, using Memento Black ink.  I started off by colouring the word, Good Vibes using the Bermuda Bay pens as that’s one of my favourite colours!  I then coloured the flowers in all the other colours!  I like bright, what can I say!!

I then embossing a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock using the Layered Leaves embossing folder like the sample.  I added a piece of Pear Pizzaza shimmer ribbon and a bow.  I was actually surprised at how quickly this card came together.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Angela.

I’m off to bed now as I’m stuffed from such a big weekend!!

Happy Stamping

Comforting Friends

I don’t know about you but I like to have a variety of cards on hand in my stash to cover most occasions. I found recently that I didn’t have any suitable sympathy cards and decided to make a couple for stamp club recently.

I really like the Corner Garden stamp set so I decided to colour this set with my blender pens and again with the markers for a different look. I also used the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set for the sentiments.

This is the first time that I’ve used the new Thick Whisper White cardstock and it’s lovely!! We also cracked out the new Archival basic black ink pad, which will be available from 1 September, and it does a nice crisp image.

I let the ladies at stamp club choose what they wanted to use, markers or blender pens and ink pads, and creativity reigned!! We also choose the coloured backing on the day to suit the colours that they used.

So here is my card using blender pens and the subtles ink pads.

At stamp club, I went with blender pens and the brights ink pads.

For my last sample, I went with the Regals markers.

In order to get the sentiments straight, I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to help line it all up. Seeing as there is so much work in colouring, you don’t want to mess it up on the last step!!

Happy Stamping
