I’ve had a few weeks off from the Colour Inkspiration Crew as I’ve been volunteering at the Commonwealth Games.  It was a great experience!!  I’ve been back at work this week which has been a challenge to get up so early!!

This week’s colour combo is just stunning!!  Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette, Gold Foil and Whisper White.

I’m really sad to see that Rose Wonder stamp set and the matching Rose Gardent thinlits are on the retirement list.  I just love them!

I mainly use the large floral thinlit in the set, so this time, I decided to use the single rose.  I cut it out in Night of Navy and then used my fine tip glue to attach it to a stitched circle.  I added a gold foil scalloped circle behind it all.

I then created the sentiment by cutting out 2 of the gold foil piece and snipping them to create a gold border.

An easy bow using the Night of Navy crinkle ribbon and voila, a lovely card!

Next up is my lovely friend, Liz.  I can’t wait to see what she has created.

It’s finally starting to get a bit cooler (hopefully we are on the down hill slide to winter!).  It’s so much nicer to craft without the humidity!

We are back with another gorgeous colour challenge this week.  (Actually, aren’t they all amazing!)  We are using Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Very Vanilla.

Isn’t the inspiration picture just divine!  These colours just make me think of flowers!

I always chuckle when Crumb Cake is used for a challenge.  Whenever I use Crumb Cake in my classes, my mum (who always comes) hates Crumb Cake and calls it the dung colour!!  And how often do we use crumb cake?  All the time!!!  It makes a great base for all sorts of colours.

I have used the Garden Trellis embossing folder to create some texture on the background.  I then dug out my Rose Wonder stamp set.  I wanted to do soft colouring for the flowers so I inked up the rose of the stamp with Blushing Bride ink and then carefully inked up the leaves in Garden Green.  I then coloured them in using the ink and an aqua painter, being careful to not make it too damp. I cut out the flower by hand.

I added some mini gold sequin trim behind the flowers cos you always need sparke!

I stamped the outline of the sentiment in Chocolate Chip and the Happy Birthday in Garden Green then cut it out on the big shot using the matching die from the Rose Garden Thinlits.

We are back with our second challenge of the year already!  It looks like this year is going to go as fast as 2017, which is good as I’m planning on travelling to Orlando, Florida in November for a Stampin’ Up! 30th anniversary Onstage event.  Bring it on!!

We have a gorgeous colour combination this week, of Emerald Envy, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand.

CI26

I decided to try a new technique for my background.   I had a piece of glossy white cardstock and put drops of each colour (but not sahara sand) over the card.  I then spritzed it with Isocol and let the colours blend together.   Because I was impatient, I dried it using my heat gun, but you could let it dry on its own.

I really love the Hold on to Hope stamp set and bundle.  It was created by Million Sales Achiever Brandy Cox when she got to visit the Stampin’ Up! office.

I created the cross by cutting out the detailed cross framelit and the solid cross framelit and glued them together with the fine tip glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped on Sahara Sand and cut out with the largest stitched circle framelit.

I can’t wait to try other colour combinations using this technique.

Next up is the lovely Nicole.  You are going to love her card!

We have a great colour combination this week at Colour Inkspiration.  Bronwyn’s inspiration was Father’s Day and manly colours.  So I didn’t do that at all!  I did try but it didn’t turn out that way!

So the colours are Whisper White, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand and Dapper Denim. Isn’t that map cool!

We are able to add in metallic’s so I felt that silver foil would go nicely with these colours.  It has taken me a while to get them, but I recently purchased the Sunshine Sayings bundle with the Sunshine Wishes thinlits.  I did want to do a Father’s day card but the sentiments in the set didn’t really lend themselves for that.

I’ve gone with a simple layout this week.  I used the new Quilt Top embossing folder which will be available in the Holiday Catalogue available 1 September.  It’s so lovely!!   I cut out the Love from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits in Silver foil.   I then added a strip of cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Sahara Sand.

I’m really happy with how this card turned out.  It’s a perfect anniversary card.

Next up is the lovely Monique.

I can’t wait to share the Holiday Catalogue with you!  So much lovely Christmas goodies!

Here we are with another amazing Colour Inkspiration challenge for you!

I love the colour combination this week.  We have Sweet Sugarplum, Lemon Lime Twist, Wild Wasabi and Fresh Fig.  I know it has “that” colour in it, but it’s growing on me!!

One of my favourite new sets is the Oh So Eclectic bundle.  There’s diamonds, flowers, ok I’ll admit it, you had me at diamonds!!  So, of course, I had to use some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper at the back.  I then stamped and die cut some of the flowers and stems out.  And Stella has made an appearance on the die cut flowers.  You really can’t have too much sparkle!  lol

My sentiment comes from the Happiest of Days stamp set which is fast becoming my favourite birthday stamp set.

I hope you are inspired by this card, please let me know in the comments below.

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Krissy Buck.

Isn’t the year just flying past?  Can you believe we are in June already and have a new catalogue to play with?  There are so many lovely new stamps and goodies in this catalogue.

We have a great challenge this week at Colour Inkspiration, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip and Marina Mist.  Can I just mention that I’m really excited to be following Tanya this week!  I’ve admired her work for many years and love the fabulous tutorials that she creates.

As always, my first thought is “what can I do with this?”  Seeing as I had my new toys to play with, I went with the Climbing Orchid stamp set and the matching Orchid Builder Framelits.  Oh, these are so fun to play with.  Once I worked out how to create an orchid (harder than you think!!), I was on my way!!

I cut out two branches from the Seasonal Layers thinlits and trimmed one to make a larger branch.  I did attempt to spritz the base layer of Soft Suede but I didn’t want to overdo it and as you can see, it’s very lightly distressed!!  Ah well, some things work and some don’t!!

As you can tell, I started a new Stella and it came out very sparkly.  You can never have too much sparkle!!

I also used one of the sentiments from the Colorful Seasons which I felt was appropriate.  I love this stamp set as it is so versatile.

Next up is the fabulous Nikki Spencer.

We would love you to join in with this challenge and add your entry to our Facebook group, which you can join here.

Colour Inkspiration 9

It’s amazing how quickly each Colour Inkspiration challenge comes around!!

This next challenge is gorgeous!!  Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party.

I wanted to play with the new stamp set that I received when I attended the recent Centrestage leadership event at Onstage in Sydney.  The Crafting Forever stamp set is the new Angel Policy stamp set but it’s perfect for crafters!!

I added in crumb cake as paint brushes and wooden pins need to be brownish and not red or blue!  I did a practice stamp on a piece of paper before committing to cardstock and I was happy with the layout.  I cut out one of the pins and popped it onto a dimensional for a bit of extra height.

I usually layer up my sentiments but I decided to stick with a whisper white circle to keep the focus on the brushes.

You don’t have to wait too much longer to get your hands on this stamp set.  It will be available from June 1 which is only 22 sleeps away!!

Next up on the hop is the gorgeous Nicole!!

Don’t forget that you can join in with the challenge at our Facebook group.
