At Colour INKspiration this week, we are showcasing the Subtles colour collection.  So many pretty colours!

So our challenge this week is to use 3 colours and you can add basics as well (being white, vanilla and black).  I’ve used So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink with a Whisper White base.

One of my favourite embossing folders is the new Tufted folder.  Love!! I used this to add some texture to the background of the card.

I wanted to use my new Time for Tea stamp set, so I stamped in Memento Ink and then coloured in Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.  I actually fussy cut out the tea cup but I’ve just looked at the matching Spot of Tea framelits and there’s a cup!  doh, silly me!

The sentiment is stamped in Soft Sea Foam.  I’ve also cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using one of the framelits in the set.    I added a piece of polka dot ribbon for some more texture and three little flowers in So Saffron as well.

It’s very pretty in person!  I hope you like it!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Monique.  I wonder what she has created.

I’ve had a few weeks off from the Colour Inkspiration Crew as I’ve been volunteering at the Commonwealth Games.  It was a great experience!!  I’ve been back at work this week which has been a challenge to get up so early!!

This week’s colour combo is just stunning!!  Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette, Gold Foil and Whisper White.

I’m really sad to see that Rose Wonder stamp set and the matching Rose Gardent thinlits are on the retirement list.  I just love them!

I mainly use the large floral thinlit in the set, so this time, I decided to use the single rose.  I cut it out in Night of Navy and then used my fine tip glue to attach it to a stitched circle.  I added a gold foil scalloped circle behind it all.

I then created the sentiment by cutting out 2 of the gold foil piece and snipping them to create a gold border.

An easy bow using the Night of Navy crinkle ribbon and voila, a lovely card!

Next up is my lovely friend, Liz.  I can’t wait to see what she has created.

It’s finally starting to get a bit cooler (hopefully we are on the down hill slide to winter!).  It’s so much nicer to craft without the humidity!

We are back with another gorgeous colour challenge this week.  (Actually, aren’t they all amazing!)  We are using Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Very Vanilla.

Isn’t the inspiration picture just divine!  These colours just make me think of flowers!

I always chuckle when Crumb Cake is used for a challenge.  Whenever I use Crumb Cake in my classes, my mum (who always comes) hates Crumb Cake and calls it the dung colour!!  And how often do we use crumb cake?  All the time!!!  It makes a great base for all sorts of colours.

I have used the Garden Trellis embossing folder to create some texture on the background.  I then dug out my Rose Wonder stamp set.  I wanted to do soft colouring for the flowers so I inked up the rose of the stamp with Blushing Bride ink and then carefully inked up the leaves in Garden Green.  I then coloured them in using the ink and an aqua painter, being careful to not make it too damp. I cut out the flower by hand.

I added some mini gold sequin trim behind the flowers cos you always need sparke!

I stamped the outline of the sentiment in Chocolate Chip and the Happy Birthday in Garden Green then cut it out on the big shot using the matching die from the Rose Garden Thinlits.

We are back with our second challenge of the year already!  It looks like this year is going to go as fast as 2017, which is good as I’m planning on travelling to Orlando, Florida in November for a Stampin’ Up! 30th anniversary Onstage event.  Bring it on!!

We have a gorgeous colour combination this week, of Emerald Envy, Bermuda Bay, Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand.

CI26

I decided to try a new technique for my background.   I had a piece of glossy white cardstock and put drops of each colour (but not sahara sand) over the card.  I then spritzed it with Isocol and let the colours blend together.   Because I was impatient, I dried it using my heat gun, but you could let it dry on its own.

I really love the Hold on to Hope stamp set and bundle.  It was created by Million Sales Achiever Brandy Cox when she got to visit the Stampin’ Up! office.

I created the cross by cutting out the detailed cross framelit and the solid cross framelit and glued them together with the fine tip glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped on Sahara Sand and cut out with the largest stitched circle framelit.

I can’t wait to try other colour combinations using this technique.

Next up is the lovely Nicole.  You are going to love her card!
