I’ve been doing a lot of playing with my Blendabilties lately in preparation for my talk at Team Day. Have I ever mentioned that I love them!! They make me look like I’m arty!!
I discovered that you can colour silver glimmer paper with your blendies!! Happy Dance time!! Coloured bling!! This way, you can always have matching glitter.
I don’t know about you, but I really love the Butterflies thinlits. I coloured my butterfly with the darker colour in the centre and on the outer parts of the wing and then a little bit of the next shade on the wings and then the lightest colour in the middle. I have found that blendies do seem to dry lighter if you are after a particular colour, make sure you do a test piece on a bit of scrap.
And isn’t the Painted Blooms DSP just the loveliest DSP? It’s a bit hard to cut up, it’s so pretty but there’s no point in just looking at it!! Got to use it!! I also like the matching stamp set and the sentiments in it.

I’m so excited to be back sharing our projects at Caseing the Catty!!
And what great new catalogues that we have to share!! If you haven’t received a copy of the new Occasions catalogue or the Sale-a-bration one, please let me know and I’ll send one out to you.
Our first challenge of the year is to be inspired by a stamped project from the SAB Catalogue and use a SAB stamp set.
As you may know, I kinda like to use my blendabilities!! I received the A Happy Thing stamp set featuring a cute bird, during the pre-order period for demos. It’s not a set I would normally choose but I knew it would be good for using my blendies with. Did you know you can also earn blendabilities for free? Just by ordering $90 worth of product, you can choose a set for free!! I might be getting a few more sets before the end of SAB!! hehe
So I was inspired by the cute card on page 18 of the AU/NZ Sale-a-bration catalogue.
I decided to do a normal size card rather than the square, just for something different. I also didn’t do the splats as I didn’t want to make a mess!! I used the Deco Labels framelits as I love this shape and I forget to use it. So I coloured my birdie using the new Bermuda Bay blendies and Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. I also used one of the brown’s in the skin colour set for the branch.
You may notice the border around the cut out shape. I used the lightest daffodil delight blendie to colour the edge left by the framelit. I think it adds a nice subtle look. Like the sample in the catalogue, I used the Love Life stamp to create the background on the card. To make the banner, I just stamped the image using Baked Brown Sugar ink and cut it out using my trimmer and paper snips. I then put a strip of new Bermuda bay sequins underneath!! These are soooo pretty!! You NEEEEEDDD some!!
I hope you like it!!
So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au
You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.
* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
Hope you can join in!!

As you know, I sort of like Blendabilities!! Ok, I lurrvee them!!
I also love the Perfect Peacock stamp in the latest catalogue. It’s great for using blendies but you don’t really need to blend much on it as it’s small in parts.
My wonderful, talented friend, Emma Palonek who is a member of my team (she is my stamping niece!!), created a gorgeous card which I decided to case for my latest Stamp Club. Em doesn’t have a blog yet but you can check out her work on her Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/vintagegraffiti.
I love the idea of using the Typeset Specialty DSP as the background. I didn’t realise until I used it that it is a lighter weight paper than usual DSP. And the hint of gold foil is a lovely touch of bling.
To do the ribbon, I cut a long piece of the crumb cake seam binding ribbon, wet it and then scrunched it up into a ball in my hand and then dried it with my heat gun. I then tied the ribbon and scrunched it again and dried it more. And of course, it’s not complete without sequins!!
Isn’t it gorgeous!! Just like Miss Em!!!
