CTC109 – Case Anything

ctc_header

Can you believe that it is only a week until Christmas!!!  This time next week, we will be sitting in a happy food coma in the air conditioning!!

I’ve still got a little bit of shopping to do and a few more cards to send out and then I’m all prepared!!

This week at Case-ing the Catty, we could choose to case anything we liked in the 2016 Holiday catalogue or the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue.  I really like the This Christmas Specialty DSP (and I still have lots of it left!!) and I still need a few more Christmas cards, so I decided to case the card at the bottom of page 26 on the right hand side.

You can’t tell from the big picture but this card also uses the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing folder which is just so nice.  I’ve kept my card pretty much the same, I’ve just used different papers of the DSP and I didn’t fussy cut quite as much.  My excuse, it’s hot at home today and I wanted to get into the air-con!!  (Note to self:  must look into air-con for the craft room).ctc109-e

I did put a bit of Stella on the flowers for a bit of bling as well.

I hope you have enjoyed hopping with Case-ing the Catty this year.  I have certainly enjoyed creating for it!!  We will be back on 8 January 2017 and sharing our projects from the new 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a lovely time celebrating with your family.

Next on the hop is the lovely Rachel.

Catalogue Launch

I always love to have a catalogue launch at the start of a new annual catalogue.  It’s a great way to get the new catalogue in the hands of my customers and it also gives me an opportunity to spoil them as a thank you for supporting my little business.

This year, I combined my launch with the Biggest Morning Tea event run by the Cancer Council.  I think this is a really worthy case and I love to support them each year.  If you would love to donate to my event, you can click on the image below.

So here’s a couple of pictures of my set up on the day.  I decorated with the Pop of Paradise Specialty DSP which is just gorgeous.  I love the colour combo of Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Gold.

So onto the projects that we made on the day.  Stampin’ Up! gave demonstrators the opportunity to purchase products from the new catalogue prior to launch day and also gave us some suggested projects to make using these products!!  How nice of them!!

My first project was a little gift packet using the Kraft Tag a Bag Gift bags.  Have you noticed these before?  I certainly had not!!  You get 10 in the pack for only $6.25.  Using the Pop of Paradise stamp set, I gold embossed the leaves (why is it always windy on the day you do embossing!!).  Gold embossing on kraft paper looks A-MAZ-ING!!  A couple of strips of the DSP wrapped around the bag, some gold ribbon, a smaller piece of the Gold speciality DSP from the pack and a hand cut flamingo (yes, there were complaints about cutting it out!!) and banner, and voila, a gorgeous gift holder!!

For our second project, I got out the Gift Bag punch board and using a 6″ x 12″ piece of Kraft cardstock, I created the box (Using M as the size and not scoring the side triangles).

To speed things up on the day, I pre-cut the swirls and leaves from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits.  So then we got stamping with the swirls in So Saffron, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum from the Swirly Bird stamp set and glued down the petals using the fine tipped glue pen.  I love making banners with the Triple Banner punch.  I cut the whisper white piece to fit the middle sized marking on the punch and the kraft one for the smallest.  To stamp the sentiment, which is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set, I started with the one in the middle, lining it up with the centre of the banner.  Then stamped on either side.

I used the Playful Palette washi tape on the end of the banner and added a bow of solid whisper white baker’s twine.  Doesn’t it look cute!!

I had my friend, Sarah Jane of Rustic Bakes by Sarah Jane, do the catering for me and I asked her to make some special biscuits for me so I could package them up for the ladies to take home.  They look great and taste pretty good too!!  She also made gorgeous cupcakes, and a chocolate slice and a passionfruit slice.  Nom, nom!!

I hope you enjoyed my projects, the ladies who came to my launch did!!

Onstage Team Swap

One of my favourite parts of attending Stampin’ Up! events is being able to catch up with my team.  We are spread across a couple of states, and although we keep in touch via our facebook groups, it’s always nice to catch up in person.  At Onstage a couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be able to attend Centre Stage (the leadership event) with my Upline and sister line.

Another great part of attending is the free products that you receive!!  We all get a stamp set in our bag, but there’s also the opportunity to win extras during the Prize Patrol sessions.  And I’m pretty sure, everyone got a prize this year!!  Woo hoo!!  I was lucky enough to win the Badges & Banners stamp set which is going to be very popular!!  There will also be a co-ordinating punch when the new catalogue goes live, but I don’t have that yet.

So we decided to do a team swap using the products that we received at Onstage.  It’s so much fun getting lots of happy mail instead of bills!!

We could also use the products that we were able to purchase in the Product Purchase Premier, so I used the new in colours and the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP.

I wanted to showcase the new colours, so I used the markers to colour the stamp.  It will be really handy to have the matching punch but I hand cut these babies out!!

Don’t you just love those colours!! I think Emerald Envy is my favourite at this stage!!

I can’t wait for the new catalogue to come out.  You are going to love it!!  If you would like a copy, please let me know and I’ll send one to you, if you are within Australia.

Happy Stamping!!
