Can you believe that we are casing the last part of the 2016 Occasions Catalogue!! Hasn’t it been a fun journey!!
So the last section is 3d projects & kits. One of the things I love about Caseing The Catty is really taking a good look at the amazing projects created by the artists at Stampin’ Up! If you are stuck for mojo just pick up your catalogue and be inspired!!
I was inspired this week by the bag on the right on page 26 using the Botanical Gardens DSP.
But I didn’t have any small brown bags to use but I did have the Petite Café Gift bags in my stash. I love how you can stamp on the DSP to add a little more detail and a more personalised feel to the paper. I then created the tag using the Ornate tag topper punch and stamped it using the Suite Sayings stamp set. This is a really versatile set and I’m glad to see that it is hanging around.
I then created the flower and leaves using the Botanical Builder framlits. A quick sponge of Cajun Craze in the centre and two little black centres on top of each other, oh and of course a Wink of Stella, and voila, a gorgeous flower for my tag!!
I used a clothespin and put a little bit of washi tape on it. The tag is only held on using the clothespin, so the lucky recipient can pass on the love!!
Here’s a close up of the detail on the flower. You can almost see Stella!!

Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mum’s out there! I spent the day with my mum visiting a craft market, then having lunch at Tamborine Mountain. Love you, Mum!!
So this week, we are casing the Going Places Section of the Occasions catalogue, pages 38-49. I don’t have many of the sets in the section, so I decided to case the layout of a card for my inspiration. I used the Bear card on page 40 on the left hand side.
I love the stripes in the Birthday Bouquet DSP, even if it has got that gorgeous floral on the other side. I didn’t distress the paper but I did do paper piercing around the edge. I love that extra detail. I then used the Rose Garden thinlits and cut out the single flower, a smaller flower and two of the petals. I played around for a while to get a layout that I liked, then I glued them all down with my favourite glue, the fine tip glue pen. I added a Wink of Stella to the flower but it’s a bit hard to see in the photo. I used the Suite Sayings stamp set for the sentiment (love this set!!).
Here is a closer view of the flowers.
I hope you were inspired by my card to use the layouts in the catalogues to create your cards!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List
Welcome to this week’s Caseing the Catty blog hop. We are casing the Botantical Gardens section of the Occasions catalogue from pages 26-29.
I thought I would try a different colour combination for my card. I’m casing the thanks card on page 26. Did you know that you can use this stamp set to create your own dsp?
So I stamped away with Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride and created my own background. I created my own washi tape by using one of the stamps in the set and adding it to the edges of the circle. I have recently discovered the Suite Sayings stamp set and I decided to use one of the sentiments stamps as I have a special friend in mind for this card.
I also love a good set of splodge stamps as well, although I don’t use them as often as I should!! The Timeless Texture stamp set has fabulous splodges in it!! For this card, I am casing the gift bag on page 29.
For this one, I pretty much only changed the colours and went with Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Watermelon Wonder. I have to say I have so much trouble making my twine look like random swirls!! It’s harder than it looks!!
I hope you have enjoyed my cards this week and it inspires you to join in with Caseing the Catty this month. As always, we have a monthly challenge that you can join in and show us what you have cased from the catalogue. Click here to go to the linky.
Next on the hop is the lovely Elizabeth Gross.
