I’m a day late with my post this week, my apologies, work got in the way of creating, how rude!!
So this week, I was inspired by the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. This comes with a matching punch which I love!! Anything that saves me cutting out, is a great idea!! Although having said that, I did do some hand cutting on this weeks’ card.
This stamp set always makes me think of snow and snowflakes, so I decided to go with Pool Party as my base card. I used the music paper from Home for Christmas DSP. If you look closely at the paper, the music and words are for Silent Night.
I stamped the largest snowflake in Pool party on the dsp and then stamped the next sized down snowflake in versamark on vellum and used a mix of white embossing powder and dazzling diamonds over the top. I put a few layers of the powder mix on to make it more sparkly. It looks very sparkly in real life. I then hand cut them out, wishing there was a matching framelit!!
I then used the same mix of embossing powder and dazzling diamonds to stamp the sentiment on pool party cardstock. I cut it out with the Project Life – paper clips thinlits.
Here’s a close up of the sparkles.
I added a Snowflake Element and put a pearl in the centre of the 3 snowflakes for a touch of glamour. I’m very happy with the sparkly result!! We won’t talk about the sparkly desk. hehe!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List
I always look forward to seeing what challenge is up at Global Design Project each Monday. Then I spend the next few days working out what to make.
Well this week, I was making a card for my monthly stamp club class on this coming Saturday and my lovely friend, Emma at Vintage Graffiti, suggested with a few tweaks, my card would suit this week’s challenge.
So I tweaked it and here we are!! I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest where a white gel pen was used to highlight the leaves on the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. I wanted the focus to be the Garden Green tree so I stamped the background tree on the Real Red cardstock with Real Red ink.
I then stamped the tree using the new Basic Black ink and cut out using the matching Leaflets framelits (try saying that fast!!). I then highlighted the petals using the Stampin’ Chalk marker.
I then assembled it all together and added a banner using the stamp from the Flurry of Wishes set and my favourite punch, Banner triple punch.
I think it’s kinda cute!!
I’d love to hear what you think, so please leave me a comment below.
Update – I’m excited to share that this card was chosen as a winner for this challenge!! Excited much!! Thank you so much, GDP!!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Welcome to the first day of Spring!!! And the first day of the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue!!!! It’s always exciting when a new catalogue is released. And this one just has so much lovely stuff in it. I have to say I was really impressed with it when I first saw it.
To celebrate the new catalogue, I wanted to share with you my team swap that I did recently. I was inspired by a demonstration from the US Convention by Pam Morgan of the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and matching punch.
So I started with the medium sized stamp and used White Staz-on to stamp out the image. I went with Staz-on as my craft ink takes forever to dry. I then punched them out with the Flower Medallion punch. Repeat 15 times. Yay!!
I then punched out the larger flurry from the punch in Silver glimmer paper. Have I ever mentioned that I love bling and silver glimmer paper? hehe. I then stamped and punched lots of the smaller flurry in Pool Party ink. I used 4 flurries per ornament. To assemble them, I folded 3 in half, then using the fine tip glue pen, glued each side together and then glued the three to the remaining flat flurry. Once they were all done, it was just a matter of assembling the layers together.
I used the new Softly Falling embossing folder (which is just lovely) and added more glimmer paper and a banner across the bottom. To attach the ornament, I punched two small holes using my 1/16″ hole punch and threaded through the silver cording trim and tied a bow. So once Christmas is over, the lucky recipient can take off the ornament and keep it to put on the tree next year.
So if you would like a copy of the Holiday catalogue, let me know and I would be happy to post one out to you. Or if you neeeeed to order straight away, (like me!!), you can go to my online store.
