Congratulations to the winner and crew pick of last week’s challenge! Did you know you can join in with us too? All you have to do is join our Facebook group and share your project with us. It’s that easy!!
We are getting ready for Mother’s Day and sharing a project inspired by the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue or the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.
I was inspired by the card on the top left of page 69 using the Bunch of Blossoms bundle.
I went with a colour combo of Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and a touch of Pear Pizzazz. I didn’t want to use ribbon behind the flower so I created my own dsp using the Brushstrokes stamp set. I should use it more often as it looks rather nice, if I do say so myself!!
I had to search hard through my stamp sets to find a Happy Mother’s Day one! Luckily, Teeny Tiny Sentiments to the rescue!! I also used the retiring Banner framelits, which I will miss as I am very challenged at cutting an even banner!!
And have you noticed something new? The flower centre is the gorgeous new gold faceted gems!! Aren’t they lovely!! I’m so excited!!!!
Next up is the very talented Kelly Kent.
Don’t forgot to pop over to the Facebook group and join in!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Father’s Day is one of those occasions which always seems to creep up on me and catches me unprepared!!
I decided to be more organised this year and remembered to do a card for stamp club in August. I did a search of Pinterest for inspiration and wasn’t overly inspired by any cards that I found. So I decided to create my own!! eeekk!!
I decided to go with a nautical theme and used Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White as my colours.
I inked up the Brushstrokes stamp set and went from there!! I do like the rustic look of the stripes. Really, it’s not bad stamping, it’s meant to be that way!!
I cut out a Cherry Cobbler label from the Lots of Labels framelits and a Night of Navy label in the next size down. Did you know that the Essentials Paper Piercing pack has been updated and includes a template for the Lots of Labels framelits. I did a quick piercing around the edge of the labels for a bit of detail. I then dug out my Little Letters thinlits and created the word happy in gold and silver foil paper. I carefully laid the letters onto the label so that they were centred then glue them down using the fine tip glue pen. So easy!!
To create the rest of the sentiment, I used the Alphabet rotary stamp. Now I have to say, this was quite a challenge. I’m not sure if there is something wrong with the letter “t” but I could not get it to stamp nicely!! After about 10 goes, I had two that were “ok” so I went with them!!
In keeping with the nautical theme, I added some baker’s twine around the card.
Hopefully Dad and my father-in-law will like their cards!!
Happy Stamping and Happy Father’s day to all the Dad’s out there.
