At the Global Design Project this week, the challenge is a baby theme. I love the large sentiment on the Big News stamp set, so I decided to base my card around that.
I then choose Mint Macaron and Hello Honey for my colours. I don’t have any of the Baby DSP from this catalogue (I’m trying to be sensible!!) but then I realised that I only have the neutrals DSP stack which doesn’t quite go with my colour theme. But I DO have the Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP, so I decided to colour the dotty one with my sponge dauber and Mint Macaron.
Once I stamped the image from the Big News stamp set, I coloured the words in with the Hello Honey marker as I wanted them to stand out.
I then stamped a duckie from the Something for Baby stamp set and cut it out with the matching framelits, Baby’s First. I LOVE matching framelits!!
Now I just need to find someone having a baby to give this card too!! I wonder who it will be!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
We’ve had a bit of change at Case-ing the Catty and we are now doing a blog hop every week starting at 7pm on Friday.
This week we are casing the Wedding section of the Occasions catalogue (pages 42-44) of the AU/NZ catalogue.
I don’t have the wedding stamps as I’m in that period of no weddings (but lots of 40th’s!!). I do however have the gorgeous Something Borrowed DSP and Something Lacy stamp. Did you know that the DSP has 4 sheets of each pattern so if you are making invites etc, you have enough of one design to go around.
So I decided to case the card on page 42.
Isn’t it pretty! I love the Something Lacy stamp!! Especially when it is stamped on vellum.
Here is my version.
I used the sentiment from the Big News stamp set and embossed it in silver. I coloured the flowers using the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. I used the White Jute Ribbon, Sahara Sand Lace Trim and the Silver Baker’s twine like the original which adds lots of dimension.
I decided to make another couple of cards to showcase the gorgeous Something Borrowed DSP.
I used the Perfect Pennants stamp set for the sentiment and cut it out with the Chalk Talk framelits. I also used Lost Lagoon ribbon.
On this one, I used the Feels Good stamp set and the Deco framelits. I trimmed the top of the shape with my paper snips.
I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I’d love you to leave a comment below.
Please continue on hopping through the Design Team blogs. Next on the list is Alison Barclay.

You may have heard that Stampin’ Up! have decided to discontinue the Blendabilities. I’m really sad about this as you may have noticed that I really like them!! They have had numerous issues with them and have decided not to continue to offer a product which doesn’t meet their high standards. Whilst I’m sad that they are no longer available, I am proud to be a part of a company that has such high standards and is willing to make such a decision.
So I had a workshop recently and decided to focus on our other pens, the Stampin’ Write markers. One of my favourite techniques is the marker to stamp technique. It is a great and easy way to add more than one colour to a stamp. And it’s always an Ooohh moment when it works!!
I was inspired by a card on Pinterest, see here. I have changed it around a bit, including turning it on its side. I have used the Big News stamp set which is great for large sentiments.
Here’s a close up of the bling!!!
I hope you like it!!

There’s nothing like cuddles with a new little baby and watching their cute little face as they sleep.
One of my friends had a little boy just the other day and I popped around for a visit today. I love baby cuddles!! However, nappy change time is not for me!!
Of course, I can’t go around empty handed, so I cased this card from Pinterest. But it’s a little boy so you can’t add a doily, so I used the bannner from the Balloon framelits from the Occasions catalogue.
The Lullaby DSP is so cute. Did you know that one side of the dsp is in pink tones and the other blue. That way there’s no wastage as you can use it all!!
And of course, no card is complete without a bit of bling!! It’s sort of blue isn’t it!! hehe!!
