CTC232 – Artistic Expressions

Welcome to the first challenge of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue!! Have you placed your order yet? Mine should be arriving tomorrow!!

For our first challenge, we are casing the Artistic Expressions section, pages 106-159.

I was inspired by the card on page 131 which features some no line colouring.

So I used the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and attempted to create flowers using the flower image in the set. As you may notice from my card below, I was not happy with how they turned out! I think I need to practise this technique a bit more before I publicly share it.

I am rather taken with the Garden Lane DSP and I think it makes for perfect backgrounds. I added a sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade set and cut it out in Flirty Flamingo with the Stitched Labels dies. I added a piece of the new Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon as well. It’s so pretty!!

Tell me which is your favourite new DSP? It’s a bit hard to choose just one!

Next up is my lovely friend, Liz.

We would love to see what has inspired you in the Artistic Expressions section so add your creation to our Facebook group.

I’m excited to playing along with the Colour Inkspiration challenge this week.  I just love this colour combo!!

ci44It’s Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz.

I wanted to use the Beautiful Promenade bundle which includes the Beautiful Layers thinlits.  I love the diamond shape you can cut out with the thinlits.  So that’s where I started with Highland Heather cardstock.

I used the lovely Petal Promenade DSP as my background.  I then stamped a couple of the flowers in Blushing Bride and leaves in Pear Pizzazz and cut them out with the thinlits.

I stamped the sentiment in Sahara Sand and cut it out using the tag from Petals & More thinlits.

I added a ribbon on the side.  It’s from the Metallic ribbon combo pack.

I didn’t go very far to find my project for this week.  I made it to page 105! I have just received the Beautiful Promenade bundle and I had to use it straight away.  I just love the projects on page 105, so I decided to case a couple of the cards.  I’ve done a direct case of two of the cards.  You don’t realise how much detail is in a card, until you look closely at it.

The Petal Promenade DSP is just so stunning.  It’s hard to cut up but I’m doing it! How beautiful is that medallion framelit.

For my second card, I cut out one of the wreaths out from the DSP.  There’s so much detail on this card!

I really struggle with making elegant loops with metallic thread.  I’m very envious of those who do beautiful loops!

Next up is the lovely Judy.  I can’t wait to see what she has created.
