CTC76 – Have a Cuppa

ctc_header

We are working our way through the Occasions catalogue and are up to the Have a Cuppa section on pages 34-37.

ctc 76 - have a cuppa

There are lots of very cute cards in this section.  I was inspired to case the card on page 37 as a last hurrah to the Striped Scallops thinlits die is retiring and I will miss it!!ctc76

But I don’t have the Picture Perfect stamp set or actually any stamps featuring a nice flower.  But then I remembered the gorgeous Birthday Bouquet DSP and decided to cut out the flower.

I did some spritzing with Watermelon Wonder and the aqua painter and then use the gold Wink of Stella and the aqua painter for an extra little bit of interest.

I used the retiring stamp set, A Dozen Thoughts, for the sentiment.  I’m so happy with how this card turned out.  I might have to keep my scallop thinlits!!

Global Design Project challenge – #GDP001

I was so excited when one of my stamping besties, Jessica of The Paper Caper, told me that she had been invited to be a part of a new challenge blog, The Global Design Project. She certainly deserves to be a part of such a talented and inspiring team.

I like to support my friends’ in their endeavours, whether it’s shopping at their stores or participating in challenge blogs, so I had to give this one a go!! For their first project, they have gone with a colour challenge.

It’s very pretty, isn’t it!! I felt this said baby girl to me, so I had a look through my stamps and decided to use the cute little duck from Something for Baby. I may have also been persuaded to use this set as it has a matching set of framelits (Baby’s First) and I knew I wouldn’t have to cut it out!!

To make the dotty background, I used the Color Me Irresistible specialty DSP and sponged it with a stamping sponge as opposed to using a dauber. I wanted to make sure that it was softly coloured and not too splotchy which can sometimes happen with a dauber (at least it does to me).

I then made 2 banners and cut the ends with the Triple banner punch which I just love!! No more dodgy banners for me!!

So, what do you think?

I had fun playing along with this challenge and I can’t wait to see what’s on for next week!!

I’d love if you would leave me a comment and let me know what you think!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s a peacock.

I’ve been having a play with my new Blendabilities and the new stamps I got in my latest order. I love the Perfect Peacock stamp. I saw a lovely card done at Convention and I couldn’t wait to receive my own so I could have a play. It didn’t take as long as I expected to colour in. I think it took longer to unthread the sequins and stick them on!! peacock I also wanted to try it using Dazzling Diamonds. So I stamped it in Versamark, then used some heat and stick powder and dunked a whole tub of Dazzling Diamonds onto it!! Did you know that glitter goes a looooong way. I think I’m still wearing it!!! The photo doesn’t really do it justice but the glitter seems to have hints of bermuda bay and blackberry bliss so I teamed them together. glitter peacock I’d love to hear what you think!!!
