We’ve finally had a couple of cooler days over the weekend, which has been lovely!!
This week we are casing the Occasion Kits section, pages 15-17, of the 2018 Occasions Catalogue.
There are only a few projects to choose from which made it a bit easier to pick one!!
I cased one of the cards from the Perennial Birthday Project Kit. This is a gorgeous kit and the box is to die for!! I may have bought it just for the box!! I am casing the pink card on page 16.
I used the card bases from the free Tutti-Frutti cards and envelopes that you can earn during Sale-a-bration. You get 16 cards and envelopes in the pack with 4 cards of each of the 4 colours. In keeping with the tutti frutti theme, I used the Lots of Labels framelits and cut out the largest frame in the Tutti Frutti DSP stack.
I then cut out a banner in co-ordinating card stock and used my favourite punch, the Triple banner punch.
I used the Bunch of Banner framelits to cut out another banner and stamped it with the birthday sentiment from the Fruit Basket stamp set.
These cards were so easy to put together! Don’t you love the Tutti Frutti DSP!
Next up is Rachel, I can’t wait to see what she has created.
Make sure you join in with the challenge at our Facebook group.
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Actually we have two new catalogues today!! How exciting!! I just love this time of year as we all get to earn lots of free goodies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. And who doesn’t love freebies!!
What is Sale-a-bration? Well for every $90 AUD you spend, you get to choose an item for free from the range in the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalogue, from today 4th January to 31st March. There are so many lovely stamp sets and other accessories for you to choose from! One of my favourites is the Inside the Lines DSP. It is a black and white print that you can colour in!! You can use markers or the new watercolour pencils which are so easy to use!!
Check out this video from Stampin’ Up! which shows all the papers and a few samples.
Isn’t it gorgeous!! If you love this, and would like to earn your own freebie, you can place an order, or host a workshop. There are lots of great benefits for hosting. Here are the extra freebies that you can earn.
I’d love to host a workshop with you, so let me know when you would like to schedule one!!
But wait, there’s more! Sale-a-bration is also a great time to join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator. You get to pick an addition 2 stamp sets as part of your starter kit. This week at Caseing the Catty, we are back sharing our favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
Did you know if you spend $90 on products from either the Annual catalogue or the Occasions catalogue, you can earn any of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalogue for free? Isn’t that fabulous!!
Did you know that you can get a Project Life card collection for free? It’s the Memories in the Marking Project Life Specialty card collection and it’s gorgeous! You get 30 specialty cards that supplement our other Project Life collections. There are 10 4″ x 6″ cards and 20 3″ x 4″ cards. And of these cards, there are 15 overlays and 15 emboss resist cards!!!
Whilst these cards are great for using with Project Life, they are also good for making quick and easy cards.
So for my first card, I used a 4″ x 6″ black and white overlay. Now remember it’s a bigger size than our usual card size, so keep that in mind when cutting your cardstock. Ask me how I know!! lol.
I put a piece of white underneath the overlay and then created my ice creams on a separate piece of cardstock and cut them out. Aren’t the honeycomb embellishments to die for? They are so cute! I stamped the sentiment very carefully on the overlay in Staz-on ink and put it aside to dry for a while so it didn’t get smudged.
For my next card, I used one of the smaller 3″ x 4″ overlays and I added a piece of white cardstock underneath again. I then used another SAB stamp set, What I love, for the sentiment. A little bunch of flowers in the corner and it’s all done!!
For my last card, I used one of the emboss resist 4″ x 6″ pieces. I carefully coloured each section with a sponge dauber.
I used the SAB Perfect Pairings stamp set for the sentiment and did a little paper piercing around the oval for an extra bit of detail. A silver bow and again, another quick card.
Don’t forget that you can join in with us and share your projects. Join in with the linky at the bottom of this post. You might be our winner for this month!
I hope you are inspired by my cards this week. Next stop on the hop is the lovely Jackie.
Stampin’ Up! Product List
My lovely friend Brownyn Eastley is starting a new challenge on her blog, addINKtive Designs, and I thought I might give it a try!!
I thought this was going to be easy but it took a little while to come up with a card. I decided to go nice and simple and create a baby card using the cute little bird from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set (which you can get for free during Sale-a-bration). I stamped the bird on a scrap piece of thick whisper white cardstock, which works nicely with a little bit of watercolouring, and cut him out. I then used the new honeycomb embellishments and spritz a white one with So Saffron. I may have looked like I had a jaundice hand for the rest of the day!!
I just love the seam binding ribbons and I had picked up the Early Espresso one in the Year End sale in December so I thought it would make a great base for my little bird to sit on.
For my sentiment, I used a label from the Project Life Cards & Labels framelits and tucked in under the bird. I also punched a tiny heart from the Confetti Stars border punch.
Here’s a close up.
Now to wait for a little baby to arrive so I can send them this card!!
Don’t forget with every purchase of $90, you can earn products for free, like the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set I used on this card!!

And what great new catalogues that we have to share!! If you haven’t received a copy of the new Occasions catalogue or the Sale-a-bration one, please let me know and I’ll send one out to you.
Our first challenge of the year is to be inspired by a stamped project from the SAB Catalogue and use a SAB stamp set.
As you may know, I kinda like to use my blendabilities!! I received the A Happy Thing stamp set featuring a cute bird, during the pre-order period for demos. It’s not a set I would normally choose but I knew it would be good for using my blendies with. Did you know you can also earn blendabilities for free? Just by ordering $90 worth of product, you can choose a set for free!! I might be getting a few more sets before the end of SAB!! hehe
So I was inspired by the cute card on page 18 of the AU/NZ Sale-a-bration catalogue.
I decided to do a normal size card rather than the square, just for something different. I also didn’t do the splats as I didn’t want to make a mess!! I used the Deco Labels framelits as I love this shape and I forget to use it. So I coloured my birdie using the new Bermuda Bay blendies and Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. I also used one of the brown’s in the skin colour set for the branch.
You may notice the border around the cut out shape. I used the lightest daffodil delight blendie to colour the edge left by the framelit. I think it adds a nice subtle look. Like the sample in the catalogue, I used the Love Life stamp to create the background on the card. To make the banner, I just stamped the image using Baked Brown Sugar ink and cut it out using my trimmer and paper snips. I then put a strip of new Bermuda bay sequins underneath!! These are soooo pretty!! You NEEEEEDDD some!!
I hope you like it!!
So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au
You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.
* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
Hope you can join in!!

I’ve used lots of SAB freebies on my cards today!! Remember for every $90 you spend on fabulous new products, you can choose 1 item from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. I’m not sure if I should confess how many freebies I have received cos then you can work out how much I spent!!! (eeekk!!) Just don’t tell my husband!!
So on page 25 of the Occasions catalogue, I was excited to see the Chalk Ink pads and chalk board paper. I’ve been wanting to try this technique for a while. You can get 3 lovely colours to play with: Aquamarine, Rose Coral and Yellow Citrus.
So I wanted to try them all out. On my first sample, I have used Aquamarine and Yellow Citrus. They aren’t as bright as I had expected but it still looks lovely.
So I had an accident when I when I made the next sample (which I had actually made first). I stamped the top half in Rose Coral and then stamped the sentiment on the bottom half only to discover that I had mounted the clear sticker upside down on the stamp!! NNOOOOO!!!! So I cut off that bit and I think I like this one better!!
On both cards, I have used the Big Day Stamp set, Best Year Ever Designer Series paper from the SAB catty and also the buttons from the Best Year Ever accessory pack.
Let me know what you think!!
Happy SAB Stamping!
