CTC301 – Sale-a-bration

I’m back to work this week, although off to an interesting start with working the first day at home. I’m also doing shift work so I have no idea what day of the week it is!! Oh yes, that’s right, it’s Sunday cos it’s CTC time!!

This week, we are casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue!!

I didn’t realise until I started my blog post, but I’ve cased one of the cards on our challenge image. I’ve got for the So Grateful card in the middle.

This card features the Corner Bouquet stamp which you can earn for free with a $90 order. I embossed the larger bouquet with white embossing powder.

I decided to use the new blending brushes instead of water colouring. I used Balmy Blue, Rococo Rose and Melon Mambo. I’m still getting used to using these. I think I need to practice more with a lighter hand.

My sentiment is from the Heal Your Heart stamp set which is also another Sale-a-bration freebie.

I also wanted to case another card on these pages, although this time, I just did the same card. I just love the Fine Art Floral DSP so I wanted to re-create this card. The sentiment is also from the Heal Your Heart stamp set.

Here’s my version.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. Next up is Peta and Marvi.

We would love to see your creation, caseing the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Make sure you join our CTC Facebook page.

Happy Stamping

CTC261 – Week 2 – Sale-a-bration

Happy Australia Day to everyone!! It’s also my birthday today so it’s a double celebration for me! I’m having a lovely day pottering around my craft room. I tidied up part of my desk and created my card for today’s hop. I’m also planning a session of diamond painting as well!!

This is week 2 of Caseing the Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

I’ve been loving the creations from the Crew using the Bonanza Buddies bundle so in honour of Australia Day, I’m christening this bundle!! I decided to case the card in the bottom right on page 4.

The base of the card is Grapefruit Grove and I’ve used one of the backgrounds from the Birthday Bonanza DSP. I wanted to re-create the look of the tear drop shapes so I used the two banner dies in Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove. I attached using glue dots. I then cut a tag from the Bonanza dies in Coastal Cabana. I love this stitched tag!

I stamped the sentiment from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set and cut it out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

My most favourite part is the two koala’s!! Stamped in Gray Granite and Memento Black for the eyes and nose. I also coloured the face with a black marker to make it really crisp.

Next up is the lovely Peta. I wonder what Marvi is up to this week!

Don’t forget that our challenges now go for 2 weeks. You can share your creation over on at our Facebook group. We would love to see what you create!

Happy Australia Day!!

CTC214 – Sale-a-bration

What a crazy week it has been weather wise in Australia!  From flooding up the top to fires down the bottom and extreme heat in between!  I hope you have been able to keep safe.

This week at CTC we are back casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.

As you may know, all the items in the Sale-a-bration catalogue are free!! YAY!!  You can select from these items when you spend $90 or more in my online store (here) or buy contacting me directly to place your order.

I decided to case the card from page 10 which features the By the Bay stamp set.  This type of set is not really my style but I liked the layout of this card with the frames.

I think the stitched rectangle framelits are quickly becoming my favourites!  I cut out a frame using the Wood Textures DSP (I’ll be sad when it retires as it’s so handy) and a piece of whisper white.  I sponged it with a sponge brayer in Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.

As a cat lover, I wanted to use the new Nine Lives stamp set and the matching Cat punch.  And it’s my 18th wedding anniversary today, so it’s the card for my husband.  We have two spoilt kitties, Shadow (who is black) and Jaster (my grey boy).  I had a few goes at stamping and colouring a black cat but I settled with using the black blends.  It’s not just hard to photograph a black cat, but it’s hard to colour one as well!

I stamped the grey kitty in Gray Granite and coloured gently with my aqua painter.  I also stamped some blades of grass from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.

I then created a little banner for the sentiment which is also from the Nine Lives stamp set.

Next up is fellow kitty lover, Peta.

We would love to see what inspires you from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  Share your creations with us at our Facebook group.

If you love the Sale-a-bration goodies, keep your eye out as there are some new products coming out mid February!!

Happy Stamping and keep safe!!

Cat Punch

CTC212 – Sale-a-bration

Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty.  It’s been so hot this week around Australia.  I hope you’ve been able to keep cool.

We are back casing the Sale-a-bration Catalogue.  There is so much inspiration within the pages of this little catalogue.

I have cased the three scoops cupcake card on page 6.

My colours were inspired by the 2017-2019 In Colours.  The base of the card is Fresh Fig which I have stamped using the sentiment from the Hello Cupcake stamp set.  (Hello, SAB freebie!!)  I’ve been dying to use the Rectangle Stitched framelits so I cut one of the larger ones using vellum.

I then stamped the cupcake base in Tranquil Tide, and then the scoops in Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  Then fussy cut them all out.  I cheated and didn’t cut the tops out neatly of the ones that were covered up!

Another stitched rectangle for the sentiment.

I added Wink of Stella over the scoops but it doesn’t show well on the photo.  You could make this card in so many colour combos!!

Next up is the lovely Peta.
