CTC95 – Favourite Holiday 3d item

I’ve had a few days off this week and I’ve been having a lovely time in my craft room.  I should be tidying it and going through the cupboards but that’s no fun!!

This week at CTC, we are showcasing our Favourite Holiday 3d item from the new 2016 Holiday Catalogue.

I always love the gift packaging featured in the Stampin’ Up! catalogues and this catalogue is no exception!!  Have you noticed the white gift boxes?  They are in a few projects through out the catalogue.  They are a glossy white box and come with an acetate sleeve and there are 8 boxes in a pack.

I’ve been inspired by two projects this week, the box with the real red stitched ribbon on page 6 and the Halloween box on page 53.

I just love the hostess sets in the Holiday catalogues so I’ve used the Cozy Critters stamp set.  I like the idea on the Halloween box of having the cut out shapes on the side of the box, so I stamped the branch from the stamp set and then stamped four owls and punched them out.  I also stamped an owl in Real Red and Early Espresso and hand cut the scarves.  I also stamped the eyes in Early Espresso and hand cut them as well.

I did cut out a white square to stamp the branch onto, as the box is glossy and stamping could smudge.  (And if I made a mistake, it didn’t waste the whole box!)

I then put the acetate band around the box and added a strip of the Candy Cane Lane DSP and the gorgeous Real Red Stitched Edge ribbon and made a bow  for the top.    Oh and I did make two panels, one for each side.

Next up is my lovely friend and up-up-line, Simone Bartrum.

We also have a monthly challenge where you can join in with us.  Just click on the link to go to the link up.

Convention Swaps!!

I have just returned from the Inspire Create Share convention held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. I always have such a great time, catching up with my team, seeing lots of great projects and did I mention that I got a copy of the New Catalogue!!! I love being a demo!!!

One of the traditions of convention, is participating in swaps. My team had decided to do a two-inchie swap. What’s that, I hear you ask? It’s basically a 2 inch square, which we decided to do using the brights colour collection and in a party theme.

So here is my swap. I used the owl punch and made 40 crazy owls!! (He’s been to a party after all!!)

As you know, I am also part of the Case-ing the Catty Design Crew. Most of us were attending convention and we decided to do a small swap.

I have been wanting to try out the Bokeh technique so I thought I would give it a try. It was a bit scary but I’m happy with how it turned out. Each one looks different!!

If you would like to find out about becoming a demonstrator and getting to share in the fun of convention, seeing products first and receiving the catalogue before everyone else, please contact me on 0408 193 792 or click on the link to join my team straight away!!

Now to start cleaning up my craft room!! It always looks like a bomb has hit before convention!!!

9 November 2011 – Brisbane Regional event

Last Saturday I attended the Stampin’ Up! Brisbane Regional training event with some of the girls in my team and a few of my customers.  My upline, Tracy was also able to attend.  It was a great day of catching up, swapping, sharing, learning and laughs!!!  This is why I love Stampin’ Up!  They are such a generous business!!  They had door prizes during the day (I didn’t win one but one of my team members did, Yay Carolyn!!) and gave everyone who attended a container of Champagne glitter glass. Gorgeous stuff!!!

Some of the girls in my team, Carolyn G and Mary R.

Here are my guests, Me, Jan S, Lynn W and Sandra (aka Super Mum!!)

One of the best parts of any Stampin’ Up! event, is the swapping!!!  Generally, you make a card front, include a project recipe and make lots of them.  I don’t enjoy making 50 of the same thing, so I usually do a couple of different cards.  This year, I did two card fronts and a bookmark.

I cased this one from another SU demonstrator, Elizabeth Dyson.

I meant to post earlier today but my niece, Leah, had to have emergency surgery today to have her appendix out so I went to visit her in Toowoomba.  She’s doing much better now but the doctor said it was pretty bad.  I made her a cute card this morning, inspired by Kerry Bunting.  Looking at Kerry’s blog, I think she likes the owl punch!!!  It is pretty cute!!!
