CTC68 – Sale-a-bration

ctc_header

This week at Caseing the Catty, we are back sharing our favourites from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.

Did you know if you spend $90 on products from either the Annual catalogue or the Occasions catalogue, you can earn any of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalogue for free?  Isn’t that fabulous!!

Did you know that you can get a Project Life card collection for free?  It’s the Memories in the Marking Project Life Specialty card collection and it’s gorgeous!  You get 30 specialty cards that supplement our other Project Life collections.  There are 10 4″ x 6″ cards and 20 3″ x 4″ cards.  And of these cards, there are 15 overlays and 15 emboss resist cards!!!

Whilst these cards are great for using with Project Life, they are also good for making quick and easy cards.

So for my first card, I used a 4″ x 6″ black and white overlay.  Now remember it’s a bigger size than our usual card size, so keep that in mind when cutting your cardstock.  Ask me how I know!!  lol.

I put a piece of white underneath the overlay and then created my ice creams on a separate piece of cardstock and cut them out.  Aren’t the honeycomb embellishments to die for?  They are so cute!  I stamped the sentiment very carefully on the overlay in Staz-on ink and put it aside to dry for a while so it didn’t get smudged.

For my next card, I used one of the smaller 3″ x 4″ overlays and I added a piece of white cardstock underneath again.  I then used another SAB stamp set, What I love, for the sentiment.  A little bunch of flowers in the corner and it’s all done!!

For my last card, I used one of the emboss resist 4″ x 6″ pieces.  I carefully coloured each section with a sponge dauber.

I used the SAB Perfect Pairings stamp set for the sentiment and did a little paper piercing around the oval for an extra bit of detail.  A silver bow and again, another quick card.

CTC54 – It’s a colour challenge!!

I look forward each week to seeing what we are doing at Caseing the Catty. This week, we are being inspired by the colour combination on page 9 of the 2015 Holiday catalogue, featuring Mossy Meadow, Pool Party and Real Red.

ctc54

I was also inspired by the card on page 11 showcasing the Hearth & Home Thinlits die and the Happy Scenes Stamp set.

p11

To suit our colour theme, I used a Mossy Meadow base and layered it up with Whisper White and Real Red. I used the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper from the main catalogue for something different. (Also, it had Real Red in it too!!)

To create the stars in the sky, I used the snow flake stamp from the Happy Scenes stamp set and inked it with Pool Party. I then stamped it off before stamping onto the main piece so that it would be more subtle.

Without further ado, here it is!!

I hope you like it!! I’m quite happy with it!!

Mojo Monday Circles

Seeing as I have time to play in my craft room this week, I decided to try out a few challenges. You may have noticed that I like to try the Mojo Monday sketches. I thought this week’s sketch was interesting and decided to give it a go.

Here is the Sketch. And here is the link to the challenge.

I’ve recently purchased the Pretty Petals DSP stack and it’s so pretty. I decided to base my colours around this stack, so I went with a base of Mint Macaron and then a layer of Calypso Coral before the DSP. I cut out a silver glimmer paper circle using two circle framelits. Have I ever mentioned that I love bling? No? Well I love it!!! lol.

I think this hostess set, A Whole Lot of Lovely, is my favourite ever. And this Thank You stamp is just lovely. I used my Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral markers to ink it up. To create the banner, I just used the reverse side of the DSP. Don’t you just love that!!

Here’s my card.

25 February 2014 – Is it a box or is it a card?

Now that is the question!! I’ve seen lots of Card in a Boxes on Pinterest and Facebook and it was time I jumped on the band wagon!!

I found a great tutorial by Tanya Bell, check out her blog here, and I was on my way. Once you get the cutting and scoring done, it’s up to you how you decorate it.

I love the Sale-a-bration paper, Sweet Sorbet (well all of it except the black print, yucko!!) so it was perfect for this card. I also used the matching SAB stamp set, Petal Parade.

We made this at Stamp club this weekend and the ladies loved it, except for cutting out the petals!! Not my favourite part, either!! Especially when I made up the extras and had to cut out 12 petals!!

13 May 2013 – Tri-fold Shutter card – So Gorgeous!!

The yearly Stampin’ Up! convention is almost here and I’m so excited that it is in my home town of Brisbane!! I can’t wait to welcome all my team members to Brissie!! Only 9 more sleeps to go!!!

It’s been very hectic here getting all my swaps ready but I wanted to share this gorgeous card that we did at Stamp Club recently. I came across a tutorial by fellow SU! demonstrator, Tanya Bell, who does the most amazing work and creates fabulous tutorials. You can purchase Tanya’s tutorial here.

As it was so lovely, I didn’t really change very much. It was a fairly challenging card to do as a class but the girls took up the challenge and they all finished their card (although I’m not sure if they’re going to make another one!!).

27 January 2011

I thought I would start the day by making a card using a new Sale-a-bration stamp set but it was just too hot in my craft room to be inspired so I have given in and put the air conditioning on and relocated to the kitchen!!  So here I am, updating my blog instead of crafting!!!

I made a card earlier in the week, using a technique that I learnt from Paper Crafter’s Library called Ruched Ribbon.  It’s done without using any cotton, just sticky strip.  I love the effect!!!

Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Brights Designer Series Paper Stack,

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  Big Shot, Top Note Die, Polka Dots embossing folder, hodgepodge hardware, Designer label punch, Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon, Basic rhinestones, Itty Bitty Shapes punch
