I love to colour in!!

When my sister and I were young, we used to love colouring a book mum had, which had lots of quilt patterns in it. You were meant to use the book to see how your quilt would turn out in the colours you had chosen. We copied all the pages in the book so we could still keep the original and would end up with lots of different “quilts” in paper.

So now I can continue to colour in with my new Blendabilities pens. I love these pens, although it does take a bit of getting used to the blending part of it. But I’m getting better each time I use them.

I wanted to have a play yesterday with my Blendies, but didn’t want to spend ages colouring in the Blended Bloom stamp. It seems that I actually don’t have a lot of stamps suitable for colouring in (don’t worry, I’ve got it under control in my first order from the new catty!!) but I did find the Flower Shop stamp set which has a good flower for colouring.

Well what to do with it? I love a good sketch, so I headed off to Mojo Monday to check out their latest sketch. (You can check it their post here)

So their sketch is Tall and Skinny this week but I didn’t really want to do that. I also used my colour coach for a colour challenge and I went with Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow.

So here is the sketch.

And here’s my interpretation. You can’t really tell from the picture but I coloured the rhinestone with the Coastal Cabana bel

So what do you think? I’m impressed!!!

Happy Stamping!!

16 September 2012 – ESAD 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!

It’s time again for another ESAD Blog Hop.

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it  with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now the blog hop started at Chloe Evans and you may be joining in from across the sea with the talented Narelle Hoggard, but if you are joining in here, no worries, just keeping on hopping around each blog until you get back here.

Now for my project.  I’ve joined in a couple of the U-Stamp with Dawn Big Shot classes and received lots of templates for great projects but I’ve rarely used them. (Bad, I know!!)  I wanted to make something a little different this time, so I had a look through my templates and decided upon the Petal Cone Accordion Wreath which was designed by Betty Traciak.

I have used the Summer Smooches DSP which is so bright and cheery, just right for spring.  You need to cut out lots of petal cones from the die and also the half scallop circles.  I’ve also used the bird from Betsy’s Blossoms and the For you comes from Layered Labels.  I just love the matching framelits.  (I must confess, I’m rather addicted to the framelits, I’ve bought nearly all of them!!  and the rest are on the list!!)

Here’s a close up of the centre.

I’ve used the Scallop circle die and I’ve place rhinestones in each scallop (did you know that there are 30!).  I’ve used one of my favourite embossing folders, Elegant Lines.  The birdie is sitting on a branch from the Bird builder punch.  I also cut out the wing of the bird and popped it out with a dimensional.    I had stamped the whole image from the Layered Labels stamp set in Rich Razzleberry but it need a bit of Daffodil Delight to brighten it up.  I used the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon for the bow.

Stamp Set:  Layered Labels, Betsy’s Blossoms

Ink:  Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry

Paper:  Summer Smooches DSP, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Petal Cone die, Scallop circle die, Elegant Lines embossing folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, bird builder punch, rhinestones, Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

Now your next stop on the hop is with the very talented Delys Cram from New Zealand.  Just click on her name and enjoy your trip across the sea!

9 November 2011 – Brisbane Regional event

Last Saturday I attended the Stampin’ Up! Brisbane Regional training event with some of the girls in my team and a few of my customers.  My upline, Tracy was also able to attend.  It was a great day of catching up, swapping, sharing, learning and laughs!!!  This is why I love Stampin’ Up!  They are such a generous business!!  They had door prizes during the day (I didn’t win one but one of my team members did, Yay Carolyn!!) and gave everyone who attended a container of Champagne glitter glass. Gorgeous stuff!!!

Some of the girls in my team, Carolyn G and Mary R.

Here are my guests, Me, Jan S, Lynn W and Sandra (aka Super Mum!!)

One of the best parts of any Stampin’ Up! event, is the swapping!!!  Generally, you make a card front, include a project recipe and make lots of them.  I don’t enjoy making 50 of the same thing, so I usually do a couple of different cards.  This year, I did two card fronts and a bookmark.

I cased this one from another SU demonstrator, Elizabeth Dyson.

Stamp Set:  Elizabeth, It’s Your Day

Ink:  Early Espresso, Rose Red

Paper:  Early Espresso, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Whisper White

Accessories:  Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Whisper White organza ribbon, pastels, blender pens.

This one was cased from Heather Klump.  I really love this paper and the colours!!

Stamp set:  Four Frames, On Your Birthday

Ink:  Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder

Paper:  Berry Blossoms DSP, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral

Accessories:  Corner Rounder punch, Decorative label punch, oval punch, scallop oval punch, doily triple layer punch, finial press embossing folder

Now when I saw this on Splitcoaststampers, I just knew that I had to make it as a swap.  It’s by Snowteach.  I have to admit that I am addicted to Angry Birds!!!  These were very popular!!

Paper:  Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, More Mustard

Accessories:  Two Tags Die, Scallop circle punch, owl punch, bird punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, slot punch
